We’re BUZZING with excitement for Grandparents Day this Sunday at Magnolia Baptist Church!

Grandparents are such a sweet blessing. They love big, pray faithfully, give the best hugs, tell the best stories, and leave a lasting impact on generations to come.

Tomorrow we want to take a little extra time to celebrate the wonderful grandparents in our church and community. We’ll even have some special treats just for our grandparents because life is simply sweeter with them in it!

Bring Grandma. Bring Grandpa. Bring Nana, Papa, Mimi, Pawpaw, Mamaw, Pop, GiGi — whatever special name they answer to!

Join us tomorrow morning as we celebrate the grandparents who have poured so much love, wisdom, and faith into our families.

Sunday Schedule:

Ladies, we’re getting together for a night of creativity, good food, and even better fellowship!

Join us for our Women’s Social as we make beautiful Bible tassels together and enjoy a charcuterie-style potluck.

Bring your favorite charcuterie board to share! It can be sweet, savory, traditional, or completely creative—cheeses and crackers, fruit, desserts, dips, snacks… anything you love!

Come ready to create, snack, laugh, and spend some time getting to know the women of Magnolia a little better.

Bible Tassels + Charcuterie + Fellowship = a pretty great night!
We can’t wait to see you there!

WAIT… ARE WE REALLY PREACHING ABOUT THE BIRTH OF JESUS IN SEPTEMBER?!

ABSOLUTELY.

Because why in the world should we wait until December to get excited about JESUS?!

No Christmas tree.
No stockings.
No twinkle lights.
No “Silent Night” playing in the background.

Just the incredible truth that GOD SENT HIS SON.

This Sunday, we’re going to Bethlehem a little early.

We’re looking at Joseph. Mary. The unexpected pregnancy. The 75-mile journey. The manger. The circumstances that probably looked NOTHING like they imagined.

And through every single detail…
GOD’S WILL WAS AT WORK.

Caesar thought he was calling the shots.
God was.

Joseph and Mary probably couldn’t see the whole picture.
God could.

The journey wasn’t easy.

The circumstances weren’t glamorous.

But God was fulfilling His promises every step of the way.

And maybe somebody needs to hear that THIS Sunday.

Maybe your life doesn’t look anything like you thought it would right now. Maybe you’re walking through something difficult, confusing, uncomfortable, or completely unexpected.

And seriously… why wait until December to celebrate the greatest news ever given?

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:11

THIS SUNDAY
8:30 AM — Worship
9:50 AM — Small Groups
11:00 AM — Worship

Christmas came early this year.
Bring your Bible.
Bring your family.
Bring somebody with you.
We’ll see you Sunday.

Friday, September 11

There are some days that never leave us.

We remember where we were. We remember the shock, the silence, the fear, and the tears. We remember watching heroes run toward danger while others were trying to escape it. We remember families who kissed their loved ones goodbye that morning, never knowing it would be the last time.

September 11th reminds us how fragile life is, how precious every moment is, and how deeply we need God.

Today, we honor the lives that were lost. We pray for the families who still carry the weight of empty chairs, quiet birthdays, and memories that still hurt. We thank God for the firefighters, police officers, first responders, military, medical workers, and everyday citizens who showed courage in the middle of chaos.

But even on a day marked by darkness, we remember that evil does not get the final word. Grief does not get the final word. Fear does not get the final word.

Jesus does.

“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

May we never forget.
May we always be thankful.
May we hold our families a little closer.
And may we continue to pray for our nation.

The kids went back to school today after a 4-day weekend… so if your house looked anything like ours this morning, you probably need church tonight.

The backpacks were missing, the lunchboxes were questionable, the shoes had mysteriously disappeared, and somebody definitely forgot what “wake up” means.

Good news: Wednesday Night Service starts at 6:30 PM at Magnolia Baptist Church, and we have classes for all ages!

Bring the kids, bring the coffee, bring whatever patience you have left — and let’s get refreshed in the Word together.

We’d love to see you tonight at Magnolia Baptist Church!

Happy Labor Day!

Today we pause to honor the value of labor, service, sacrifice, and faithfulness. But as we rest from our work, may we also remember the One whose finished work gives eternal rest to our souls.

Matthew begins with “the generation of Jesus Christ”—a reminder that Jesus stepped into a real world, through real families, with real brokenness. His lineage included sinners, strangers, failures, and those in need of grace. Yet through it all, God was working. From Abraham to David, from David to Babylon, and from Babylon to Christ, Heaven was revealing its perfect Representative.

Jesus came from sinners, but He came for sinners.
He was made like us, yet without sin.
He carried our burden, paid our debt, and now stands as our Advocate with the Father.

On Labor Day, we can be thankful for earthly work—but even more thankful that salvation is not earned by our labor. It is received through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” — 2 Corinthians 5:21

Rest today knowing this: God has been working through every generation, every story, and every broken place to bring us to Jesus.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND IS HERE.

A long weekend may change your routine, but it doesn’t have to change your priorities.

There will be cookouts, ballgames, time on the water, family gatherings, and maybe even a little extra rest — but before the weekend is over, make room for what matters most.

MAKE CHURCH A PRIORITY.

Come worship with us. Get connected. Open God’s Word. Spend time with His people. Start your week focused on the One who has given us every good thing.

SUNDAY AT MAGNOLIA
8:30 AM — Worship Service
9:50 AM — Small Groups
11:00 AM — Worship Service
6:30 PM — Small Groups

Labor Day celebrates the work of our hands, but Sunday reminds us that our greatest work is the work God has called us to do.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord...” 1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV

Enjoy the long weekend. Spend time with your family. Get some rest.
But don’t take a holiday from worship.
We’ll see you tomorrow at Magnolia Baptist Church.

MISSIONS SPOTLIGHT | LITTLE CAYMAN

Did you know that our missions ministry reaches far beyond the walls of Magnolia Baptist Church?

Our Missions Pastor, Jamie Chapman, and his wife, Wanita, are currently serving the Lord in Little Cayman, sharing the Gospel and faithfully ministering to the people God has placed around them.

We want our Magnolia family to stay connected with them, pray for them, encourage them, and see firsthand what God is doing through their ministry!

They have a YouTube channel for Little Cayman Church, where you can follow along with services and ministry happening on the island.

Take a minute today to subscribe to their channel and show them some Magnolia love!

More importantly, continue to pray for Jamie and Wanita—that God would strengthen them, protect them, open doors for the Gospel, and use their lives to make an eternal impact in Little Cayman.

They may be serving miles away, but they are still very much a part of our Magnolia family and the mission God has given us.
