Posted on Life Point prayer. This family needs our prayers.

Please join me in prayer for Zach, Marti and Gracie. They lost their 2 youngest daughters (and younger sisters) in a tragic accident last night. Their hearts are shattered, but thank God for His promise to be with the broken hearted. Thank you for your prayers.

Pastor’s Corner:
May is a wonderful month. We are pretty certain that winter is in the rearview mirror, although this past winter was pretty mild. I don’t think my driveway ever froze completely. There was no spring thaw and accompanying muddy lane. I have my first blooming Irises that I can see right now as I look out the window in my office. Senior students will be graduating from high school, and all student will be relieved of the pressure of classes and homework. Mother’s day is May 10th, and it is a good time to think about all of the mothers who have impacted our lives. I was blessed to have a wonderful, loving mother who sacrificed many of the years of her life raising my brother, sister, and I. As I think back, I don’t think I ever thanked her enough for what she did for me. Should of, could of, would of is a sad commentary as I reflect on all of her sacrifices. I don’t remember her ever buying a new dress or even a winter coat while we three children were at home. I wish I could tell her thank you right now, but she is with the Lord. When I see her in heaven, however, the first thing I am going to do is tell her how much I love her and thank her for everything she did for me. I was blessed to know all of my grandmothers and great-grandmothers. They were all loving women who sacrificed much for their family. All of my grandmothers had a hand in raising me. Oh, how I thank God for them. When they could have been enjoying life without raising children, they were still making sacrifices for me.
It reminds me of the Lord Jesus Christ who spent His whole life preparing to make the greatest sacrifice for me that could ever be made. And He is still doing it as He sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. We should be reminded to tell Him every single day how much we love Him and appreciate Him. No should of-could of-would of will do. Just do it now. Then when we get to heaven, we can tell Him face to face. I hope you are all abundantly blessed this May. Enjoy God’s goodness. I love you all. Verse of the Month for March
Luke 6:46-49 (ESV)
46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? 47 Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: 48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. 49 But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”

Pastor’s Corner:
What is newsworthy for March 2026? My Stepmom, Pat Green told me that she saw a robin yesterday. That is pretty common about this time of year. I haven’t seen one myself, but with all of the unseasonably warm weather we have had so far this year, I am not surprised they are here. My Magnolia Tree is going to be lulled into blooming early again, and I am sure the beautiful, pink blooms will end up ruined because there is still some very cool weather ahead. While nature can be a good predicter of future events, it isn’t always right. However, tomorrow is March 1st and Spring is officially March 20th this year. It is still a little while before it gets here, but it is coming. That we know for sure, but what about in world events? The United States and Israel began attacks on Iran yesterday. The primary focus is to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions. That combined with their development of long-range missiles that could carry nuclear weapons even as far as the United States is grave cause for concern. Not to mention all of the U.S. military installations around the Middle East are in danger. And Iran’s leadership is crazy enough to utilize such weapons of mass destruction. So, what is going to happen? Unfortunately, we do not know. Unlike Spring which we know for sure is coming, we do not know how this is all going to end. Iran has been a constant source of terror in the world even though not directly involved. With their vast oil reserves, they have been able to fund and support terrorism for decades. I wish I could say unequivocally how it is going to end. I pray that in world affairs good will prevail over evil. Here is what I do know. God is in control of the future of humanity. He loves all people, and He is looking forward to spending eternity with us. There is a hymn that we sometimes sing, “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow.” The words go like this:
“I don't know about tomorrow, I just live from day to day. I don't borrow from its sunshine, For its skies may turn to gray. And I don't worry about my future, For I know what Jesus said. And today He walks beside me, For He knows what lies ahead. Many things about tomorrow, I don't seem to under—, understand. But I know who holds tomorrow, And I know who holds my hand.”
Though we don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow, we know the One who does. How do we prepare for the unpredictable? We make sure that Jesus is the rock we stand on. Matthew 7:24-27 and Luke 6:46-49 both tell us how important it is to stand on the rock of Jesus Christ. He has already planned for our future. Make sure you are truly a child of God with Jesus as your Savior. Regardless of what happens, we can rest on His promises. I know Who holds our hands. Rest in Jesus.
I love you all. Pastor Butch

Verse of the Month February
Revelation 21:1-7
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

Pastor’s Corner:
Have you ever taken the time to just meditate or consider how much God loves us? Unbelievers have tried to read the Bible and maybe even some Christians as well, and they decide that the Bible is just filled with wars and violence. We are already weary from hearing about all of that in the world we live in. If that person’s focus is on violence, then there is a tragic lack of understanding about what God’s Word is really all about. God’s Word is a love-letter from beginning to end. A person I knew decided to begin to read the Bible. That person decided to start with the Book of Revelation. Big mistake. It really scared them. Again, because of a lack of understanding, true revelation was lacking.
Here is some truth about God’s Word. The number of times "love" is mentioned in the Bible varies significantly by translation, ranging from about 310 in the King James Version (KJV) to over 700 in newer versions like the New Living Translation (NLT) or English Standard Version (ESV or a popular version like the NIV, With that simple knowledge one should begin to understand that “love” is a key subject. My Bible is 3,006 pages long not including the maps at the back. This is not meant to discourage anyone from reading the Bible. But there is a lot more within its pages than wars and violence. Let me greatly simplify it for you. God is defined as love. God loves His son, Jesus. He sent Jesus to die for your sins because He loves you unconditionally. He wants to spend eternity with you. Begin to read God’s Word today so that you can begin to understand how much He really loves you. Pray before you read and God the Holy Spirit who inspired the writing of the Bible will give you understanding. Because of God’s love, we have eternity and God’s riches to gain. Continue the journey until you cross the finish line. It will be worth it all, I promise. I love you all in Christ Jesus. Pastor Butch
