Many years ago when we hosted After School Jams, we collected donations of books and activities for a young girl named Dannika who was in the hospital and struggling with Cystic Fibrosis. Look at this People News story about her now! Even though you may not remember this particular act of generosity by our church family, it is still great to be reminded of God’s hand in big and little things of life.

Today the United Women in Faith presented Bridget Barr with our Special Recognition Pin for her many contributions to our church, such as playing piano each Sunday and sewing our new communion cloths. The United Women in Faith are happy to recognize Bridget for her time and efforts, and show our appreciation for all that she has done for Salem!

Today, 3 of our members were awarded the Nelda Schlue Scholarship during our church service. Nelda was a lifelong member of Salem and, as a teacher, was very interested in the youth of the church. She established this scholarship for members of Salem to help cover their college expenses after the completion of at least one semester of college. Congrats to Troy Kupka, Eli Kupka, and Gavin Brooks for receiving $1,000 scholarships to go towards their Kirkwood College expenses.
