Volunteer opportunity!

This Saturday, we're preparing The Crossing for one of the most exciting milestones yet: flooring installation.

Before the flooring can go down, every apartment needs to be thoroughly cleaned and cleared of construction dust so the flooring adhesive can bond properly. It may not be the most glamorous work, but it's one of the most important steps in transforming a construction site into 23 future homes.

If you've been looking for a way to get involved, this is a perfect opportunity. No experience needed. We'll provide the tools, show you what to do, and work alongside you.

Tomorrow is a BUSY day at the church, and in being the church!

Feel free to swing by the Native Plant Swap under the outdoor pavilion. Don't have any plants to swap? No worries -- come anyway and get 2 free plants to get started on building habitat for wildlife, and minister to creation!

Involved with youth ministries? Serve youth in the community through your job? Spots are still available for the FREE Child Abuse Awareness Training from 9-2 in our Friendship Room, sponsored by The Exchange Club of Valparaiso. Training by Dunebrook, Inc. staff comes with certification good for continuing education credits.

More into construction projects -- or at least handy with a paint brush or a broom? Join Project Neighbors for a work day!

Unable to attend any of these? PRAY in support of all the action in our community!

What does it look like to love your neighbor?

Sometimes it looks like showing up with a willing heart and a pair of work gloves. Join Project Neighbors this Saturday as neighbors come together to strengthen homes, build relationships, and invest in our community.

We’re getting closer and closer to the finish line at The Crossing, and we would love your help!

Join us on Saturday, May 30, from 8 am to 12 pm at 850 Axe Ave. in Valparaiso for a volunteer workday.

No special skills are required, no signup is needed, and all tools will be provided.

Show up when you can, stay as long as you’re able, and help us prepare The Crossing to welcome 23 new neighbors home!

Today worship was alive with music, drums, hymns, spirituals, streamers dancing in the air, Scripture shared through reader’s theatre, and a sermon co-preached by pastor and pastoral intern as we reflected together on the Spirit still speaking into the world.

We greeted one another in different languages as a reminder that the Spirit has always been bigger than barriers, borders, and fear. We gathered around the Lord’s Table to share the sacrament of Communion, remembering that Christ still meets us in bread, cup, and community.

And somewhere in the middle of all that beauty, we paused long enough to take a family photo, because that’s what church can become at its best: not perfect people, but people being gathered together by grace.

“What does this mean?”
Maybe it means the Spirit is still moving.
Still gathering.
Still sending.
