185 Years of Faith The Valparaiso Christian Church is celebrating 185 years of faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savio

The Christian Church began in 1837 an out growth of Adams Church in Morgan Township. With the guidance of Lewis Comer (Adams Church) and the leadership of Elias Axe, the church sustained itself with 11 members for years. Beginning in the 1880's it grew to a congregation of 1000+, owned a building at 7 Chicago Street in Valparaiso, Indiana. After 1968, it became officially First Christian Church (D

isciples of Christ), but was called simply the Christian Church. With it's move to 1507 Glendale Blvd in 1990 the church entered a new period of change.
