It seems like weeks - but it was only one. But I've missed Sunday at New Hope Valparaiso. We will wrap up Romans tomorrow with the message "But wait, there's more!" from Romans 16:25-27 and others. Let's meet at 10 for Bible study and 11 for worship.

"Look at the order. He doesn’t say, “If you follow me, I’ll go to the cross for you.” He says, “I’m going to the cross for you, so follow Me.” You’re not saved because you’re a disciple; you’re a disciple if and only if you understand what He has done to save you."
Timothy Keller

Hearing and Doing will be what we'll look at tonight in the book of James. But not just there, we'll look at what Jesus had to say on the subject as well. 6:30 in the fellowship hall. See less

Bunny and I did a walk-around at the church just now and it looks like the buildings did fine. The tree outside the fellowship hall didn't fare so well though. A number of limbs were broken off and fell. Two broke off and are hanging near the top. We'll have to deal with that at some point. Power is up and AC systems running fine. Praise God.

Hello, I hope everyone made it through the weather okay. Our power just came back. We will not be meeting tomorrow at New Hope. We still have people without power, and some who left the area to be safe. So no activities tomorrow. If you need help in any way though, the ministry of the church is not closed and we'll help you if you are in need. Grace and peace, David

We're praying over here for all of those affected by this hurricane and especially for our loved ones which include every one of our New Hope family and friends. Over the years we've been through a lot together and have never been separated from the love of God. All our lives He has been faithful and good. And He does not change with the weather. So join us praying today.

We're taking a peek behind the curtain tonight and examining the basis for, and the reasons why different translation committees make different choices. There's a LOT that goes on to bring you the "best" translation of God's Word. We'll start in Romans 15 and just might spread out and look at some passages that might be translated differently and what that might mean. It's more interesting than my writing about it. 🙂 6:30 in the fellowship hall

We're going to explore the Hope that can only come from God Sunday morning in the message. If you know someone (or are someone) in need of Hope please come and bring that friend who needs to know what true hope is and how to have it.
