In Luke 9:20, Jesus asked Peter "Who do you say that I am?" This is the most important question every one of us must answer for ourselves.

How do you answer who Jesus Christ is?

09/09/2026

This is the question that changes everything. You can't inherit faith from your parents or ride on someone else's belief. Your eternity depends on YOUR personal answer to Jesus.

Following up on Pastor Tim's powerful message, "The Ultimate Question," we want to dive a little deeper into Luke 9 this week. Join us in our Monday-Friday devotional as we spend time reflecting on the most important question any of us will ever answer: "Who do you say that I am?"

There is one question that cuts through every distraction, every opinion, and every religious tradition. It is the question Jesus asked His disciples in Luke 9, and it is the same question He asks every person today: Who do you say that I am? How you answer it determines everything.

"But who do you say that I am?" - Luke 9:20

This is the most important question any of us will ever have to answer. Join us tomorrow morning at First Baptist Church of Valparaiso as we dive into this passage and explore Peter's powerful confession: "The Christ of God."

Whether you've been walking with Jesus for years or are just starting to ask questions, you are welcome here. We would love to worship with you!

When God commands the impossible, He's not setting you up to fail—He's inviting you to discover His sufficiency. Have you ever felt the weight of demands that exceeded your capacity? That's where faith begins.

You can have it all and still feel empty. The world's menu—money, success, approval—leaves you hollow. But Jesus offers something different. He's the Bread of Life, and He satisfies completely.

The modern church has built empires on marketing and money, but Jesus calls us to something radical: complete dependence on the Holy Spirit. What would happen if God removed everything but His Word?

"Take nothing for your journey..." (Luke 9:3) 📖

This past Sunday, Pastor Tim reminded us of the radical reliance Jesus called His disciples to in Luke 9:1-11. He sent them out with no staff, no bag, no bread, and no money—trusting entirely in God's provision.

In a culture that constantly tells us we need more, choosing to be completely satisfied in Christ speaks volumes to those around us. As Pastor Tim said, "Contentment is the ultimate apologetic for the gospel in a materialistic world." When we find our full satisfaction in Jesus rather than stuff, the world takes notice!

How is God challenging you to practice contentment this week? Let us know in the comments below! 👇

Jesus didn't see the crowd as an interruption—He saw broken sheep needing a shepherd. Setting aside His own exhaustion, He opened His arms to receive them and fulfilled His mission: preaching the kingdom, offering grace, and feeding their souls with eternal life. This is what it means to follow Him.
