Elder William Shepherd has returned home from his mission to Johannesburg, South Africa today! But before going home from the airport the family had to stop in Aurora at the Giving Machine at Fox Valley Mall and donate to the many awesome charities in the machine. what a great example to us all! Only 7 spots remain to donate.

Please Call to make an appointment. If you make an appointment online, the "Power Red" appointments can be used to do a regular blood donation.

Unsure what a Power Red appointment is? "A power red donation collects the red blood cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements and have type A negative, B negative, or O blood."

As we ring in the new year, it is wonderful to reflect on the blessings of the previous year.

One sweet sister said this about the , which was a service initiate to share the light and life of Christ throughout the month of December by doing acts of service,

"Light the World initiative is such a wonderful reminder and opportunity to share our Savior's light through simple but significant ways.

We hear this over and over again that a call or text or even a smile can make such a difference! I've experienced, this December, all of the above, both as a giver and a receiver!

Kindness and thoughtfulness mean so much in a world that sometimes seems dark.

I'm grateful every year for the encouragement to step out of my comfort zone and be an instrument in the Lord's hands to do good in the world.

I've always believed in the power of one. One person can make a huge difference in the life of another!"

You don't have to wait until December comes again to ! You can all year long. Every time you show love and kindness to another, you are Lighting the World with the love of Jesus Christ.

"My daughter for an art project honored her past English teacher who passed away in a car accident recently. The art was shared with the family of the deceased and they were so grateful and are going to print and hang it up in their homes to remember her!"
