Dear St. John Family & Friends. This is Pastor Steve, and this post is of a personal nature. Please read and share if you are comfortable doing so. Thank you. Greetings to all my family, friends, and friends of friends. We need to get the word out, so please pass it along. There is a person near and dear to me, and someone many of you know, my sister Irene (Boorsma) Flanagan (WEGO Class of 77), who is in need of a liver transplant. She is 0 negative… which means she can give to anyone, but can only receive from 0 blood. I am not sure of negative or positive matters in this case. If a cadaver donor is not available they can receive a partial donation from a living donor. The bad and good news: Bad- the donor must be under the age of 60, and they will take 70 percent of the liver from a living donor: Good- the liver will grow back to full size in 2-3 months. Reach out to me with any questions, or feel free to contact her directly. … please pray for her, keep her in your prayers and your church prayer groups, and of course, share and pass this along. Reminder: If you signed up to bring snacks for Vacation Bible School, please bring them to church on Sunday or Monday morning. We could use a few cookies or desserts for the Vacation Bible School program on Friday evening. Thank you for your donations.
