As the General Conference wraps up and delegates return home from South Africa, we give thanks to God for a great conference, for continuing to solidify who we are as Global Methodists, as we look forward to our continued growth in spreading Scriptural holiness across the globe.

Be in prayer for the GMC General Conference as the delegates continue their work. A part of that work will be the selection of the next Bishop to serve our North Alabama area.

Today marks a historic day in the history of the Global Methodist Church. Beginning at 1:45 p.m. South Africa time, the plenary began the election for the first slate of full-time bishops for the GMC. Elections for each episcopal area will occur one at a time over the next two days. Results will be released by area as they become available.

Delegates from our North Alabama Global Methodist Church conference are already in or headed to Johannesburg, South Africa for General Conference 2026.

The Global Methodist Church launched on May 1, 2022, with a Transitional Book of Doctrines and Disciplines.

In September 2024, the GMC held its convening general conference in San José, Costa Rica. The nearly 1,000 delegates overwhelmingly ratified a new constitution and elected a set of bishops for the transitional period until the next general conference in 2026, at which point the denomination will begin holding general conferences every six years.
