God chose the comfort of a mother as a picture of His own comfort. That is not accidental. He is honoring the tenderness and compassion that mothers give. When God wanted to describe what His comfort feels like, He describes a mother.
Motherhood reflects something of the heart of God. A mother's embrace, her gentle words, her care in times of pain and fear-these are gifts from God that mirror His love toward us.
On Mother's Day, we give thanks not only for our mothers, but also for the God whose comfort reaches us through them.
