Round one did not work. The endoscopy and putting a stint in I was not a good candidate or safe for me. The GI surgeon will not get back involved. My hope is that they will just take the gallbladder out but that means a few more weeks of recovery off of chemo. The third option which my ongolgist does not want is to put the Hilary tube back in. I like option two as I trust God can hold the cancer back while off chemo. If He has already not solved it. Please pray God will direct their steps in big ways.

This has been a really rough day. For a test I had, they wanted me off all opioids which meant full on pain. The test then ran two hours. By the time it was done at three I was freezing and really hurting with no meds for 9 hours. When I got back to the room they could give me pain meds again and they upped my dose. It finally is helping. In all of this God is just good in small ways. I am on a clear liquid diet which means supper salty chicken broth. I told the nurse I wish they would do beef for a change. Well guess what God blessed me with tonight low salt beef broth. Go God in even the small things.

I had a difficult day yesterday. Working in child welfare is not easy and sometimes extremely difficult for me because we're still mourning the loss of our son, baby Leo. My husband and I have been trying to conceive again and seeing first hand the alarming amount of child maltreatment that is occuring breaks my heart.

My current assignment is to review the intake reports screened into the 696-KIDS hotline alleging child abuse/ neglect. We are gathering data to apply for a grant and the purpose is to evaluate if law enforcement (mandated reporters) are notifying the agency when a parent overdoses. There were a total of 734 cases regarding substance abuse concerns. After reading a few hundred referrals I was defeated and overwhelmed.

I knew I had to take a moment and pray. I found myself searching for "bible verses for strength" which immediately captured me. I was led to Matthew 11:28- When you are weary and carrying heavy burdens go to God and He will give you rest. It was exactly what I needed. In that somber moment He provided comfort and healing. I got out my bible and discipleship journal. I was surprised to read my entry from 2/3/20- Matthew 11:25-28. This was not a coincidence. It was validation that He will continue to give me strength, hope, and peace during difficult times.
