First Christian Church Vallejo We are a Christ-centered congregation in ministry to and with God's creation. ALL ARE WELCOME at 10:30 each Sunday. We are peacemakers.

What is our vision, our mission, our identity in the community? FCC Vallejo has begun the hard work of rewriting our vision and mission statements as they have not been rewritten since 1993! We have certainly changed since then, so it is time. We had 2 workshops so far to really discern who we are now and how we can serve the community. Please pray for us as we continue this journey!

Throughout September and leading to World Communion Sunday on 10/4, we will be exploring the program "Bread of Life: Gather. Savor. Share." This Sunday Pastor Sarah will focus on John 6:25-40. This is Jesus' first 'I am' statement in the gospel of John, and John is depicting how the Disciples' vision is transformed by their belief. 'Believing is seeing' and also believing is tangible - bread is not just a metaphor, but Jesus knows people are actually hungry.

This Sunday we continue exploring the worship series "Another Way: Campfire Stories to Change the World." The theme for this week is "Another Way: Changing the World".
Pastor Sara will lead us through the story of Zelophehad's daughters (Numbers 27:1-8, 11b) and we'll explore how rules can change to meet all people’s needs, inspire each other to find the courage to confront injustice, explore what it takes to create change in the world, and imagine who we might work with to be leaders of change.

Each Sunday in August we will be drawing from the worship series "Another Way: Campfire Stories to Change the World."
We'll be incorporating camp songs and activities to give our worship a little bit of extra wonder and joy. Our chosen scriptures will help us understand that God always invites us to re imagine who we are and how we do things.
Together we will imagine how growing changes the way we live and how our personal change meets the change we seek in the world. Whether we are addressing unfair rules or dreaming of a time when all people belong, we know that God calls us to do a new thing and faithfully forge another way.

The theme for the first week is "Another Way: Be Still."
