Midweek Wednesday Service Message
The Spirit of Power

• Spirit of power: The core subject emphasizing God's supernatural power working through the Holy Spirit, not through human might or earthly strength
• "The wisdom of the world is foolishness to God" (Ang karunungan ng sanlibutan ay kamangmangan sa DIyos)
• Key principle: God's power operates on spiritual principles distinct from worldly understanding
Foundation of God's Power
Divine Power vs. Human Effort
• "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts" (Zechariah 4:6, KJV)
• God's work is accomplished through His Spirit, not through human strength or ability
• This principle applies to all God's purposes and plans
The Promise and Gift of the Holy Spirit
• Jesus promised to send the Comforter (Holy Spirit) to believers after His departure
• "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you" (John 16:7, KJV)
• "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you" (John 14:16-17, KJV)
The Requirement for the Holy Spirit
• "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his" (Romans 8:9, KJV)
• Having the Holy Spirit dwelling within is essential to being a true follower of Christ
• The indwelling of the Spirit identifies one as belonging to God
Characteristics and Fruits of the Holy Spirit
ang mga katangian ng may espiritu santo (Characteristics of Those with the Holy Spirit)
The fruit of the Spirit includes:
• Love
• Joy
• Peace
• Longsuffering (patience)
• Gentleness
• Goodness
• Faith
• Meekness
• Temperance (self-control)
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law" (Galatians 5:22-23, KJV)
• These characteristics operate without legal restriction or condemnation
• They represent the natural outflow of the Holy Spirit's work in a believer's life
Spiritual Transformation and Rebirth
New Creation in Christ
• "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV)
• Being in Christ results in complete spiritual transformation
• The old way of living is replaced with new spiritual reality
New Heart and Spirit
• "And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh" (Ezekiel 11:19, KJV)
• God transforms hardened hearts into responsive, living hearts
• A unified, new spirit replaces the old spiritual condition
Born Again Requirement
• "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again" (John 3:5-7, KJV)
• Being "born of water and of the Spirit" is necessary for entrance into God's kingdom
• The distinction between physical birth (flesh) and spiritual rebirth (Spirit) is fundamental
• Spiritual rebirth is not optional but essential
Authority and Power Delegated to Believers
Power Over Spiritual Opposition
• Believers are given power to overcome spiritual forces represented as "serpents and scorpions"
• This reflects delegated authority from God to believers in spiritual warfare
• The statement affirms divine empowerment for spiritual conflict
Role of Believers as Witnesses
Living Testimony
• "We are witnesses living testimony of the power of GOD!"
• Believers serve as living witnesses to God's power
• Their lives and actions demonstrate the reality and effectiveness of God's spiritual power
• This testimony is active and ongoing through their personal experience

Sunday message:

Spiritual Awareness
Scripture References
Primary text•Exodus 20:1-6 ↗ Other references•Jeremiah 17:9 ↗ •Exodus 34:12 ↗ •Exodus 34:15 ↗ •Proverbs 3:5-6 ↗ •Psalm 103:17 ↗

Overview

The message centers on “situational awareness” in the spiritual realm—the believer’s ability to recognize what is happening around and within and then respond in faithfulness to God. Beginning with the first commandment in Exodus 20 ↗,
the bible warns against idolatry in any form, reminds believers that the human heart is deceitful, and calls for wholehearted trust in the Lord. God’s jealousy toward rival gods is matched by His everlasting mercy for those who fear Him, extending even to their children’s children.

Main Points
1. What Spiritual Situational Awareness Means•Defined as the ability to understand “your surroundings, your circumstances, your condition” from God’s perspective.•Not limited to physical threats; it includes recognizing spiritual dangers such as false gods, wrong covenants, and self-reliance.•The preacher repeats that without this awareness “you call them nothing,” stressing its necessity for every believer.

2. The First Commandment: No Other Gods (Exodus 20:1-6 ↗ )•God identifies Himself: the One who brought Israel “out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”•Repeated emphasis:Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.•Idolatry prohibited in every form—images of heaven, earth, or sea; bowing or serving them invites generational iniquity.•God’s jealousy underscores His exclusive covenant love; mercy is shown “unto thousands that love Me and keep My commandments.”

3. The Deceitful Heart (Jeremiah 17:9 ↗ )•Quote read aloud:The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked: who can know it?

•Warning: society, leadership, even personal wisdom can be swayed when the heart is not checked.•Spiritual awareness therefore begins with honest self-examination before God.

4. . Guarding Against Compromise (Exodus 34:12 ↗ , 15)•“Take heed to thyself” is presented as God’s preventive plan.
•Making covenants with the inhabitants of the land becomes “a snare;” eating their sacrifices draws the heart after their gods.•Listeners urged to watch agreements, habits, and influences that silently re-introduce idolatry

5. Trusting God, Not Self (Proverbs 3:5-6 ↗ )
•Read and applied: trust the Lord with all thine heart; do not lean on personal understanding.•Spiritual situational awareness depends on acknowledging God “in all thy ways” so He can “direct thy paths.”•Self-confidence apart from God is portrayed as another form of idolatry.

6. Everlasting Mercy for the Aware (Psalm 103:17 ↗ )
•Promise highlighted: God’s mercy “is from everlasting to everlasting” for those who fear Him.•Salvation and righteousness flow down to “children’s children” when a generation keeps covenant.•Concludes the progression from command (Exodus 20 ↗ ), through vigilance (Jeremiah 17 ↗ & Exodus 34 ↗ ), to confident hope (Proverbs 3 ↗ & Psalm 103 ↗ ).

Key Truths•Spiritual awareness means perceiving unseen dangers and God’s activity in everyday circumstances.•Idolatry is anything—image, idea, or self-reliance—that competes with God’s rightful place.•The human heart is naturally deceptive; ongoing vigilance is required.•Trusting God wholly is the path to safe guidance and freedom from snares.•God’s mercy is unending and extends to future generations who remain faithful.’

Response•Examine your heart this week for hidden idols or self-reliance.•Break every agreement, habit, or influence that draws you toward compromise.•Practice daily awareness by asking, “What is truly happening around me spiritually?”•Trust the Lord in every decision instead of leaning on personal wisdom.•Teach the next generation to fear God and honor His commandments.

Closing
Spiritual awareness to covenant blessing: when we recognize and reject competing gods, trust the Lord fully, and guard our hearts, we step into the flow of mercy that lasts “from everlasting to everlasting.” The final charge echoes the first commandment: Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.
