Mt. Zion AME Church is calling on our community to come together in prayer during this difficult time. As fires continue to impact communities, we lift up:

🔥 The brave firefighters risking their lives on the front lines
🏠 Families who have been displaced or affected
đź’” Communities facing loss, uncertainty, and rebuilding

We believe in the power of prayer to bring protection, strength, comfort, and restoration.

Let us stand united in faith, asking God to:

* Cover every firefighter with safety and endurance
* Provide peace and provision for every affected family
* Restore what has been lost and strengthen what remains

🏛 HOLY WEEK – DAY 2: MONDAY

After His triumphant entry into Jerusalem, Jesus returned to the temple and found it filled with buying and selling. People were selling animals for sacrifices—doves, sheep, and cattle—and money changers were exchanging currency for worshippers traveling from afar.

While sacrifices were required, the issue was not the act itself—but the exploitation behind it. Prices were often inflated, and people were being taken advantage of in a place meant for worship. What should have been sacred had become corrupt, commercialized, and self-serving.

With righteous authority, Jesus cleansed the temple, overturning tables and driving out those who misused God’s house.

đź’ What does this mean for us?
Monday of Holy Week calls us to reflect:
• Have we allowed anything to take God’s place in our hearts?
• Are there areas of our lives that have become spiritually compromised?

God desires a heart that is pure, prayerful, and focused on Him.

đź“– Scripture:
“My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.”
— Matthew 21:13

🙏🏽 Reflection:
Ask God to cleanse your heart, remove anything that does not honor Him, and restore your life as a place of true worship.

🌿 HOLY WEEK: A SACRED JOURNEY ✝️

Holy Week is the week leading up to Easter Sunday. It is a time when we remember the final days of Jesus Christ—His triumphant entry, His sacrifice on the cross, and His glorious resurrection.

đź’ˇ Why do we celebrate?
We celebrate Holy Week to reflect on Jesus’ love, His sacrifice for our sins, and the victory we have through His resurrection. It is a time of renewal, gratitude, and drawing closer to God.

🙏🏽 How to celebrate:
• Spend time in prayer and fasting
• Read and meditate on God’s Word
• Attend worship services
• Reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection
• Show love and kindness to others

🌿 Palm Sunday 🌿

Today we celebrate Palm Sunday, the day Jesus made His triumphant entry into Jerusalem as the people waved palm branches and shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and reminds us that Jesus came not as a conquering king of this world, but as our Savior—bringing peace, humility, and salvation. The same crowd that praised Him would soon turn, reminding us how important it is to remain steadfast in our faith.

✨ Why We Recognize & Celebrate Palm Sunday:
We honor this day to remember Jesus’ journey to the cross, His sacrifice for our sins, and the victory we have through Him. It calls us to examine our hearts and prepare spiritually for the resurrection celebration to come.

đź’š How You Can Personally Celebrate Palm Sunday:
• Reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice and what it means in your life
• Read the story of His triumphal entry (Matthew 21:1–11)
• Praise God with a grateful heart—just like the crowd did
• Lay down your burdens and surrender to Him as King
• Commit to walking with Him intentionally throughout this Holy Week

Let us not just wave palms with our hands, but honor Him with our lives.

🙌🏾 Hosanna in the Highest! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
