⚽️ Yesterday, Pastor Anthony became Coach Anthony for a play on a soccer drill as a few of our kids joined him for a game of “Pass the Duct Tape.” (Duct tape was deemed considerably safer for the House of the Lord than a soccer ball! 😂)

The goal—pun absolutely intended—was to demonstrate the difference between the four ways 2 Timothy 3:16 says Scripture shapes us:

📖 Teaching — What is right?
“Here is the right way to throw and catch the duct tape.”

👉 Rebuking — What is wrong?
“Here is what went wrong with that throw.”

🛠️ Correcting — How do I get right?
“Here is how you can adjust so the next throw goes where you intended.”

💪 Training — How do I stay right?
“Now that we have the hang of it, let us keep practicing so we get better.”

The beautiful thing is that Scripture does all four—and fortunately, God uses it to teach us truths far more important than how to throw and catch duct tape! As we heard Sunday, we keep returning to scripture because scripture keeps shaping us into God wants us to be. 🌱

So let us put it into practice: Drop one of your favorite Scriptures in the comments and tell us how it teaches, rebukes, corrects, or trains you in righteousness.

(And we will say an extra prayer for those of you whose favorite Scripture is a rebuke. 😂🙏)
