Statement from the Concerned Clergy of Valdosta Regarding Recent Presidential Social Media Conduct
VALDOSTA, GA – As we stand in the historic 100th year of Black History Month, a century dedicated to honoring the dignity, resilience, and profound contributions of Black Americans the Concerned Clergy of Valdosta expresses its profound indignation regarding recent actions taken by the sitting President.
The decision by Donald Trump to share a video on social media depicting former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as primates in a jungle is very distasteful and a disgrace. Such imagery is not merely an insult to the individuals targeted; it is a calculated regression into a painful history of dehumanization that our ancestors fought tirelessly to overcome.
Our Collective Stand
We believe these actions are a deliberate attempt to control the national narrative. By resorting to such divisive and inflammatory rhetoric, the President seeks to divert the public’s attention from his own record and the serious questions surrounding his character—including his association with the Epstein Files and other unresolved matters.
"We will not be distracted by caricatures while justice and truth remain at stake."
A Call for Accountability
The Concerned Clergy of Valdosta remains steadfast in our commitment to the truth. We refuse to allow the dignity of our community to be used as a smokescreen for political evasion. We call upon all leaders and citizens of good conscience to condemn this behavior and remain focused on the pursuit of integrity in our highest offices.
Signed,
Rev. Bernard L. Robinson
President, Concerned Clergy of Valdosta
