”I saw a post the other day by a lady who said she always grabs vintage casserole dishes when she sees them at thrift stores or yard sales and uses them when she brings a meal to someone! She said often they are cheaper than disposable ones and the family can either keep for themselves or pass on to someone else who needs a meal in the future! So in the spirit of reduce, reuse, renew & recycle... I thought this was a neat idea worth sharing!”

We are so blessed to serve a great big God, who can and will supply our every need! The Uvalde Church of the Nazarene would be remiss if we did not PUBLICLY GIVE GOD ALL THE PRAISE AND GLORY for the miraculous way HE, ALMIGHTY GOD, creator of Heaven and Earth answered every need of our precious Heflin church family members at the passing of their husband and dad.

Glenn Heflin, an amazing husband and Father died August 9, 2016. The family did not have the money to have his body picked up from their home, where he died under Hospice care.

The Chaplin from Hospice ask me, Pastor Althea Williams, in front of the Heflin family, if the church would do a fund raiser to help the family with the funeral expenses they were facing. I looked up with a huge smile and said, "No, we don't need to do fundraiser.
We serve a great big God. I don't know our God is the going to answer this family' s needs, but HE will take care of every single one.

I was honored to go with the family the next day to discuss the arrangements. The family and I had not been at the funeral home 15 minutes when the funeral director informed us the $300 charge for picking Glenn up had been donated by someone. We stopped right then, joined hands and praised God for such an awesome miracle. Before we left the funeral home, we were told someone else came in and donated the $200 charge to have Glenn's body taken for Uvalde to San Antonio for the cremation. Also, the Funeral Director looked up a place on line that saved the family over $2300 over their own cremation charges. God did amazing things for this precious family.

It is also my understanding that friends of the family had a very successful fundraiser and all funeral expenses and past due property tax expenses were able to be paid.

WOW! WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!!
