This past Thursday, fifty-nine students from Historic Old St. John's, Mount Carmel/Blessed Sacrament, St. Anthony/St. Agnes, and Holy Cross North Utica (St. Mark's), received the Sacrament of Confirmation at HOSJ. In addition, one student was confirmed at Mary, Mother of Our Savior a week prior.

Through classes, service, and retreats, these young adults prepared to become full members of the Catholic Faith. Please keep them and their families in your prayers as they grow in their relationship with God.

It was a big Pentecost weekend at Historic Old St. John's as we welcomed four new members into full communion with the Catholic Faith.

Last night at the 4pm Mass, we welcomed Joesay and Aryn. This morning at the 11am Mass, we welcomed a mother/daughter duo, Lisa and Lisa. The OCIA team is grateful for the opportunity to journey with all of them as they grow in their faith. Next time you see them at Mass, please make sure you say hello and welcome.

If you or anyone you know would like to learn more about becoming Catholic or completing their Sacraments, please have them reach out to us! It is never too late and you are never too old to deepen your relationship with our all-loving God.

Today, the Church celebrates Pentecost Sunday; the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and filled them with courage, wisdom, and zeal to share the Gospel with the world.

As we celebrate the birth of the Church, may we open our hearts to the gifts of the Holy Spirit and be renewed in faith, hope, and love. Come, Holy Spirit, and set our hearts on fire with Your love! 🔥🕊️

Happy Pentecost Sunday!

Today we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord, when Jesus ascended into heaven and commissioned His disciples to go forth and share the Good News with the world. As we celebrate this holy day, may we be reminded that Christ remains with us always and calls each of us to be witnesses of hope, faith, and love in our daily lives.
