As I look around, I am beginning to see new things pop up everywhere. It has been a new flower here or a tree budding there. I can imagine that it could be hard to be a tree without a single bud on our branches yet looking at another tree of a different type right next to us that is full of flowers or leaves that are coming in. This is how we are as people. The more we look around the more discouraged we can often become. So instead of looking around just keep looking up.

Last week we talked about how we shouldn't get caught up with worldly concerns for this mindset resists and restrains the Kingdom of God from operating in our midst. This is why Jesus corrected Peter in Matthew 16:23. Instead, look up. Concern yourself with the things of God - or as Colossians 3:2 the things that are from above.
