Muslim Community Association of Mohawk Valley

Muslim Community Association of Mohawk Valley Utica Masjid was originally founded in 1994, making it the first mosque in the city of Utica, NY.

Our masjid has been blessed with a multi-ethnic community that is strongly committed to serving all Muslims from many regions of the world. The Muslim Community Association of Mohawk Valley (MCAMV) was established in 1994 as a religious non profitable organization in the state of New York by local muslims of Mohawk Valley. Today we have grown into a multi-ethnic community that provides 5 daily prayers, Jummah , Sunday school, Quran memorization, and much more.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude and pride for two brave Muslim teens Ayham Alzanam and Alksaam Alterri from our community whose courage and quick action helped save a young girl from drowning. In a moment where every second mattered, they stepped forward with selflessness, strength, and compassion beyond their years.

Their actions are a true reflection of the values we strive to uphold as a community — protecting others, showing courage in times of need, and serving humanity without hesitation. What they did was not only heroic, but deeply inspiring to all of us.

May Allah reward them abundantly for their bravery, bless them with continued strength and guidance, and protect them always. We also pray for the full safety and well-being of the young girl and her family.

These young men have reminded us that heroes walk among us, and sometimes they are the youth who rise when others are afraid. We are incredibly proud of them and honored to have them as part of our community.

With heartfelt appreciation and prayers,
