Topic: It is Time to Stir Up the Gift!

2 Timothy 1:6

Stir Up - Greek meaning - To rekindle a fire, to fan into flames or to keep burning.

1. God invested some special gifts in each one of us. We each have a gift that God has placed within us! We have to stir up the gift that He has placed inside of us. The gift is not gone...we just have to stir it up. God places gifts within us for the work of the kingdom of God (1 Corithians 12:4-7). We have been given something special from God to help build the kingdom (Ephesians 2:10).

2. Neglected gifts become dormant when not in use. There are many causes of neglected gifts; Pressure, discouragement, fear, weariness. Some of us have become complacent in our walk with God. What has contributed to the spiritual “cool off” in our lives?

3. Stirring requires personal conviction and responsibility. We must stir what we already possess. We stir up the gift through
- Prayer (Acts 4:31)
- Worship ( Psalms 22:3)
- Word ( Jeremiah 23:29) and
obedience to the Word of God (James
1:22)

4. Fear chokes what God desires to use (2 Timothy 1:7). Some of us are fearful of what God has instructed us to do ( Joshua 1:9). We must replace fear with faith. He has equipped us to be effective no matter where we are.

Our gift has to be developed - let’s stir up the gift!

Topic: How to Overcome Ziglag Moments in Our Lives

1 Samuel 30: 1-8, 18-19

Ziglag moment - A moment in our lives where it seems nothing is working the way we think it should; when life falls apart.

1. We cannot allow our pain to turn into bitterness. We must realize what the enemy is attempting to do. We must not become trapped by bitterness. Ziglag moments can either harden our hearts or draw us closer to God (Hebrews 12:15, Ephesians 4:31).

2. We must strengthen ourselves in the Lord before seeking solutions. We must seek wisdom and guidance from God before attempting to find solutions to our problems (1 Samuel 30:6). We should not seek strategy first, but we seek out the strength of the Father (Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 27:14, Philippians 4:13). Victory is won in our secret place through prayer! Restoration begins before recovery when we are strengthened in the Lord.

3. We must seek God’s direction instead of acting out of our emotions (1 Samuel 30:7-8, Proverbs 3:5-6, James 1:5). We must be led by God, not driven by emotions. God will give us directions if we seek Him.

4. We must pursue what God promised us and expect restoration (1 Samuel 30:8,18-19). When we move the way God instructs, we will recover all that the enemy has attempted to steal from us (Joel 2:25, Zechariah 9:12). There is purpose in the moments we are going through.

Some of the most challenging moments we are experiencing can be used by God to restore us if we respond to our crisis correctly. The right response can be a pathway of deliverance for ourselves and others.

Topic: The Power of the Renewed

Romans 12:2, Philippians 2:5

1. We must understand what the battle of the mind is or we will be defeated. When we have the mind of God, we know how to combat situations and circumstances. The fiery darts cannot pe*****te our minds when we are fully persuaded (pertaining to the things of God). If we fail to renew our minds, we can become trapped and dominated by the world (Matthew 15:19, Proverbs 23:7). Sin starts in the mind - we start to ponder on it, first.

a. Be not conformed.
Conform - Shaped or pressed into a pattern. We must take the time to recognize the invisible pressures we face in this world. What areas in our lives have we conformed? Social Media, Culture, ungodly environments, etc. (Exodus 23:2, Romans 8:5). Conformity happens passively - it is subtle. What influences shape our thought process?

b. Be ye transformed.
This is God’s process for change! Transformation is deeper than natural behavior - it is an internal change that produces outward evidence of what is happening internally. Our lives are meant to be different. We are not meant to conform.
- Conform = external pressures
- Transformation = internal power
Only God can change us (Titus 3:5, 2 Corinthians 3:18). Allow Him to do His perfect work within us!

c. Renewing of your mind.
Renewing - To renovate, to make new again, to replace old patterns with new truth. We must be willing to apply the Word and do what the Word of God says. Have we been changed by the word of God? We need to fill our minds with the Word of God.

- We must remove wrong thinking. We have to identify and reject thoughts that contradict God (2 Corinthians 10:5, 1 Peter 5:7). We cannot get lost in what we are going through.

- We must replace our wrong thinking with truth. The Word of God is the truth (John 17:17, Psalms 119:11). We do not have to rehearse wrong thinking.

Renewing our minds requires faith and pushes us to act on the Word of God.

Topic: The Importance of Having Accountability
Proverbs 27:19, Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12

We are all meant to be dependent on God.

1. Accountability will sharpen our character (Proverbs 27:17). Accountability helps to bring correction and truth. We don't know all the answers. We have to be accountable to someone - Jesus Christ. True accountability is not always comfortable, yet necessary. God will use people to expose and bring us closer to Christ. We need each other (Hebrews 10:24-25, Psalm 141:5).

2. Accountability multiples strength, success and the anointing to fulfill the assignment given to us (Ecclesiastes 4:9).There is divine advantage in being connected to the right people. We need wisdom and discernment with those we are connected to. Are all of our relationships valuable? Some relationships in our lives may need to be reconsidered. Who is helping and pushing us into the things of God (Amos 3:3, Deuteronomy 32:30)?

3. Accountability provides support in weak moments. Opposition is a part of our lives (Ecclesiastes 4:10). We all have moments of weakness and discouragement, but accountability helps us to get up when we are knocked down by the trials of life (Galatians 6:1-2, James 5:16).

4. Accountability creates strength and stability. We are more vulnerable when we attempt to move through life alone. We need others to hold us accountable for who we say we are (1 Peter 5:8, Proverbs 11:14).

Accountability does not restrict us - it protects us. It is not a weakness, it is a strength. We are better together! Who are we accountable to and who has permission to speak into our lives? Are the relationships we are cultivating sharpening us or causing us to be dull?
