Some Owl Creek Cemetery History:
The first burial was John Herrod in 1814. Ziba Leonard, Sr. was also buried that year. Approximately 30 burials took place by 1830; nearly 140 before the Civil War.
Names of the families with the most members interred at Owl Creek include Clutter, Beckholt, Ewart, Arrington, and Bell.

The Owl Creek Cemetery Association would like to thank the Knox Rocks 4-H club for its help at the cemetery spring clean-up. Huge turnout at 9 am on a cold Saturday morning!

The Owl Creek Cemetery Association is a volunteer organization that has maintained this historic cemetery since the early 1900’s. There is at least one veteran of the Revolutionary War, as well as dozens of veterans from the Civil War, World War I and Il, Korea, and Vietnam interred here.
There is no endowment fund. We rely on selling burial plots and the generosity of individuals to maintain the grounds and monuments. We currently have funds that would cover annual expenses for less than 5 years; we would like to increase that to an amount that would cover expenses for 10 years, a total in excess of $100,000.
Please contact Mark Wolfe thru this page or by phone at 419-560-9157 if you are interested in purchasing a cemetery lot, make a donation, or have other questions.
