Perilous Waters: Navigating the Dangerous Currents Shaping the Church

Part 1: Drifting Without Anchors

When Scripture loses its authority, faith doesn’t collapse—it drifts.

Join us as we examine what is shaping our faith and rediscover the authority, stability, and shared foundation of God’s Word. We will also celebrate Baptism Sunday together! 📖🙌💧

We are not the source of grace. We carry what Jesus provides. 🧺

A teacher can open Scripture. A friend can pray. A volunteer can welcome someone who feels alone. Ordinary acts of faithfulness can carry the provision of Christ into another person’s life. 📖🙏❤️

When Jesus places the bread in your hands, carry it to someone who is hungry—and let the story be about Jesus.

Yesterday’s usefulness cannot become today’s sufficiency.

The disciples had preached, healed, and watched God work through them—but they still needed Jesus for the need in front of them. 🙏

Past faithfulness does not leave us with a permanent supply of strength. Every new assignment is another invitation to depend upon Christ. 🌿🙌

Jesus does not ask us to become the source of what other people need. He asks us to become available to the One who is. 🙌

He supplies. We carry. 🧺

This week’s Weekend Reflections considers how our insufficiency can become a place of dependence, formation, and faithful service.

Christian maturity is not measured by how little we need Jesus. The deeper we grow in Him, the more clearly we recognize the source of everything good our lives produce. 🌿📖

One way we remain connected to Christ is by consistently opening His Word.

Join us as we read the Bible together in 2026.

Five loaves were never enough to feed five thousand people. 🥖🐟

The question was whether those five loaves were safe in the hands of Jesus.

What feels small or insufficient in your hands can become part of Christ’s provision when it is surrendered to Him. You may not feel like enough—but Christ is. 🙌

What has Jesus already placed in your hands?

Tomorrow at 10 AM we conclude our Formed By… series!

Part 6: When What You Have Isn’t Enough

Sometimes we look at what we have—our time, our abilities, our resources, our experience—and immediately see what is missing.

Jesus sees something different.

Again and again in Scripture, God takes what seems small, ordinary, or insufficient and accomplishes more with it than anyone imagined.

The question is not simply, “Do I have enough?”

The question is: “Am I willing to place what I have in His hands?” 🙌

Tomorrow is also Serve Team Sign-Up Sunday, making it a perfect way to conclude this series about the people Jesus is forming us to become.

Join us at 10 AM and invite someone to come with you!

Generosity requires margin.

If every dollar is already committed to maintaining our lifestyle, we may have plenty and still have nothing available to give.

Margin creates room.

Room for the family who suddenly needs groceries.
Room for the missionary opportunity.
Room for the unexpected need.
Room for the Holy Spirit to whisper, “Help them.”

We cannot help everybody all the time—but what if we intentionally lived with enough room to say yes when God places a need in front of us? 💛🙏

Margin gives us the freedom to say yes.

🙏 Firstfruits are about more than percentages.

They say something about priority.

Before everything else begins making claims on what God has entrusted to me, I choose to honor Him first.

“The tithe is not the ceiling of Christian generosity. It is a remarkably helpful starting line.”

Not because ten percent purchases God’s favor. Jesus already paid what we could never afford.

We give first because God comes first. 💛
