First Baptist Church of Urbana, located at 401 N. Main Street, will meet for worship this Sunday, May 10, at 10:30 AM. Pastor Brian Wonn is planning to continue a sermon series of preaching through the Gospel of Mark. We plan to look at Mark 3:20-30 when Jesus faced interference by some of His own people, and then by some religious leaders who accused Jesus of being possessed and casting out demons by the ruler of demons. We will consider the sin for which there is no forgiveness and different ways it may be manifested, as an encouragement to avoid this sin which has eternal consequences and instead be freed from sin's bo***ge by the Savior. Nursery and children's classes will be available for children through the sixth grade. The service will also be available via livestreaming from a YouTube link on the page. First Baptist Church of Urbana, located at 401 N. Main Street, will meet for worship this Sunday, May 10, at 10:30 AM. Pastor Brian Wonn is planning to continue a sermon series of preaching through the Gospel of Mark. We plan to look at Mark 3:13-19 when Jesus went up on the mountain to summon and appoint the twelve men He wanted to be with Him to be prepared for sending out to preach, and with the authority to cast out demons. We will consider what kind of men the Lord wanted to be with Him, how He prepared them, and the unique high calling the Twelve, that we know as the apostles, were given. We will then think through an example of an essential high calling today to encourage all followers of Christ toward faithfulness. Nursery and children's classes will be available for children through the sixth grade. The service will also be available via livestreaming from a YouTube link on the page. (www.facebook.com/FirstBaptistsUrbana/) On Thursday, May 14 we will have a Centershot Archery class from 6:00 PM to about 7:45 PM. There is no charge for the class and we provide all the equipment. If you have questions, you can call the church at (937) 652-2129.

First Baptist Church of Urbana, located at 401 N. Main Street, will meet for worship this Sunday, April 26, at 10:30 AM. Pastor Brian Wonn is planning to continue a sermon series of preaching through the Gospel of Mark. We plan to look at Mark 3:1-12, when the religious leaders confronted Jesus over healing on the Sabbath, to consider some of the problems that result from the hardness of heart that leads to a failure to delight in the Lord, to see one's own need, to receive what can only be given by God, and to share with others. Nursery and children's classes will be available for children through the sixth grade. The service will also be available via livestreaming from a YouTube link on the page. First Baptist Church of Urbana, located at 401 N. Main Street, will meet for worship this Sunday, April 12, at 10:30 AM. Pastor Brian Wonn is planning to continue a sermon series of preaching through the Gospel of Mark. We plan to look at Mark 2:18-22, when Jesus was asked why His disciples did not fast like the disciples of John the Baptist or the Pharisees, to contrast the vibrant and confident life of a disciple of Jesus to the life of one who is seeking to be righteous by religious observance. This will include thoughts on how the life of a follower of Christ is something wholly different than a cleaned up version of the former way of life. Nursery and children's classes will be available for children through the sixth grade. The service will also be available via livestreaming from a YouTube link on the page. First Baptist Church of Urbana, located at 401 N. Main Street, will meet for worship this Sunday, March 29, at 10:30 AM. Pastor Brian Wonn is planning to continue a sermon series of preaching through the Gospel of Mark. We plan to look at Mark 2:13-17 to consider when Jesus called a sinful tax collector to be one of His disciples, even having dinner with him and other tax collectors and sinners, all to the chagrin of the Jewish religious leaders who would plot to have Jesus destroyed after His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. We will also briefly consider how their plotting, in fulfilment of prophecy, led to the crucifixion of Jesus as the substitutionary sacrifice for sinners who will believe upon Him. Nursery will be available for young children. The service will also be available via livestreaming from a YouTube link on the page. (www.facebook.com/FirstBaptistsUrbana/)

First Baptist Church of Urbana, located at 401 N. Main Street, will meet for worship this Sunday, March 22, at 10:30 AM. Pastor Brian Wonn is planning to continue a sermon series of preaching through the Gospel of Mark. We plan to look at Mark 2:1-12 to consider the forgiving of the paralytic of his sin by Jesus after being lowered through the roof by his friends, and the physical healing of the paralytic as evidence of the authority of Jesus to forgive sin. This will remind us of the inestimable value of our sin being forgiven, through no merit of our own, and the freedom of a joyous life that is made possible only through the atoning sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. Nursery and children's classes will be available for children through the sixth grade. The service will also be available via livestreaming from a YouTube link on the page.
