A human body became the habitation of the Spirit of God. God took the one way in which to reveal His love: He became one of us!
“The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14).
God is with us, and therefore known to us. He is Immanuel – God with us to seek and to save. Through salvation, we have the forgiveness of sin, healing, comfort, and moral strength.
“The Word was made flesh” by the miracle of the virgin birth. “The Word” was not an abstract concept of philosophy; He [Jesus] was a real person who could be seen, touched, and heard. “And we beheld His glory.” The revelation of God’s glory is in the Person of Jesus Christ, Who came into the world to save sinners. The Law could reveal sin, but it could not remove sin. Only the blood of Jesus Christ could cleanse us from our sin.
Sin is not forgiven by the stroke of a pen; neither is pain removed from the heart by a word of sympathy from one who knows nothing of its anguish. Jesus, our Savior, entered into our life, faced our temptations, carried our sorrows, and bore our sins on the Cross that we might know the length God’s love would go for our redemption. He lovingly, kindly, and softly calls you to accept His gift of salvation. “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
Jesus came to give new life (John 10:10); He was born to die so that all could receive Eternal Life. Because He came, we can now experience the fullness of God’s revelation of life’s meaning and purpose.
