All Services Cancelled for Today

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ at Immanuel Chapel,

The weather forecast shifted overnight, and it now appears that snow is arriving and will likely be falling steadily by 9:00 a.m. Out of an abundance of caution—and in order to keep our roads clear and our congregation safe—we have made the decision to cancel all services for today.

May the Lord keep you safe and warm throughout the day. We encourage you, if you are able, to tune in to a live broadcast and worship with your family at home. And should anyone find themselves in need or facing difficulty because of the storm, please do not hesitate to reach out.

With love and thankfulness for you all!

“I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.” 1 Cor. 14:15

Dear Friends of Immanuel Chapel! On this coming Sunday evening (8/21/22) at 6PM in our evening worship service, we will be adjusting our order of worship to accommodate more singing than usual, scaling back some of the time for other elements, during this special service of celebration through song.

Singing to the Lord is a duty, privilege, and joy. Martin Luther said "Music is the gift of God, not of man. It puts the devil to flight, and makes the soul joyful; it draws away wrath, impurity of thought, pride and other evil passions. Next to theology, I assign to music the highest place and the highest honor.”

We asked our members to pick their favorites for this service, and you will see them listed below.

We would warmly invite you to come and join in this time of worship and singing with us at 6PM Sunday Evening.

Section 1:
[Psalm 98A]
[470] How Vast the Benefits Divine
[32] Great is Thy Faithfulness

Section 2:
[535] O the Deep Deep Love of Jesus
[261] What Wondrous Love is This
[708] O Love that Wilt Not Let Me Go
[SB 11] Here is Love

Section 3:
[693] Blessed Assurance
[359] Blest Be the Tie that Binds
[642] Be Thou My Vision

Section 4:
[691] When Peace Like a River
[621] Sometimes a Light Surprises
[347] The Church’s One Foundation
[731] Doxology

Dear local friends! We would like to announce that a new sermon series is starting on Sunday evenings. Pastor Marquis is going to begin preaching through the BOOK OF ACTS!

Calvin, in his commentary on Acts, refers to this book as a “kind of vast treasure.” The late A.W. Tozer said that the book of Acts teaches us that “…believing was not a once-done act; it was more than an act, it was an attitude of heart and mind which inspired and enabled the believer to take up his cross and follow the Lamb whithersoever He went.” And G. Campbell Morgan said of this book that “The abiding appeal of this book consists in the fact that it teaches us that the master passion of the Church must be that of the glory of God.”

Please consider coming out to Immanuel Chapel OPC on Sunday evenings at 6:00PM to join us in worship and these messages from the book of Acts! For those who cannot attend, they are broadcast live and the link is available on our church website:
