“I AM the Resurrection and the Life”, Jesus claims his mastery over both physical and spiritual death.
At the beginning of the chapter, we are told that one of Jesus’ close friends, Lazarus, was ill. By the time Jesus arrives in town Lazarus is already dead and buried.
He tells Lazarus’ sister, Martha, “your brother will rise again” (John 11:23).
He tells her “I AM the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die” (John 11:25-26).
He doesn't say that he bestows or provides life and resurrection. No. Jesus says “I AM life and resurrection”.
So, if Jesus is the resurrection and the life, what does that make us?
To put it bluntly, we are dead without Him. Ok, so none of you who are reading this are physically dead, but Jesus uses the resurrection of Lazarus to point out the reality of spiritual death and, His power over this death.
Paul speaks about this spiritual resurrection in his letter to the church at Colossae:
“And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him”. (Colossians 2:13-15)
Paul reminds the church that they were once spiritually dead but that through Christ they have now been made alive and that through the life found in Christ, “the rulers and authorities” of this world have been “disarmed.”so, when we are made alive in Christ, we are no longer in bo***ge to sin
🙌.
We tend to forget that to live in Christ means that we have life NOW.
Enjoy the power of life in Christ!
We say things like, “I will never be able to overcome this sin,” or “this is just who I am and I will never change.
Jesus is all about bringing dead things to life, taking things that are not and making them things that are.
Blessings all!✌️

Just a reminder....🌼
Romans 1:20
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God”.
“Deity is not to be explained, but to be adored; and the Sonship of Christ is to be accepted as a truth of revelation, to be apprehended by faith, though it cannot be comprehended by the understanding.”
(Spurgeon)

To be the light we need to receive the light.
Candle flickering or a forest fire. The darkness will always try to extinguish that light . We need to be constantly fueled by His word lovies.
Blessings all!🙏

Holy Week reveals a love that didn’t hold back. Jesus knew the cost… the pain, the weight, the sacrifice... and still, He chose the cross. Not because He had to… but because He loves you. ❤️
A love that gives everything. A love that stays. A love that saves. This is the depth of God’s heart for you. So as you walk through this week, slow down enough to take it in... the sacrifice, the grace, the overwhelming love that changed everything. 💒
