Fig trees are cultivated all over the land of Palestine and especially in the mountain areas. The trees grow generally 10 to 15 feet high, and their thick foliage provides dense shade in the summer. In warm climates such as Israel, the fig tree produces two crops each year, an early one which is ripe about June, and a later, more important one which is ripe about August.

Join us in celebrating and extending our deepest gratitude to Mother Mabel Bryant!

This past Sunday during Women’s Day, Mother Bryant announced her retirement as President of the Women’s Department. For the last 14 years, she has served faithfully, tirelessly, and with immense wisdom and love. Her steady guidance has been a true gift to our church family. We are so blessed that she remains in great health and will continue to share her heart and wisdom with the Women’s Department and her other active areas of ministry.

We pause to honor the life and legacy of Deacon Lawrence Fields, a charter member of New Gethsemane/New Direction COGIC.

Deacon Fields' impact is felt deeply across our ministry, especially within the Men’s Department, Sunday School, and Hospitality. Beyond his faithful service, he lived a rich life as an avid outdoorsman and an accomplished playwright and songwriter.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, September 5th (see graphic for full service details).

We send our heartfelt love, prayers, and condolences to Evangelist Jacqueline Fields, the entire family, and all who knew and loved Deacon Fields.
