Devotional Thought:

Sometimes the voices around us become louder than the voice of God. People will tell us who we are, what our future looks like, what’s possible, and what’s hopeless. If we are not rooted in God’s Word, we can begin to believe opinions over promises.

That is why getting in the Word matters so much. Scripture becomes the filter through which we measure every thought, every fear, and every word spoken over our lives. Hebrews 4:12 says that the Word of God is “alive and active.” God’s Word cuts through confusion and reveals truth.

The enemy loves to convince us that our broken places are permanent, but God says otherwise. In Isaiah 61:3, He promises to give us “beauty for ashes.” What looked ruined, wasted, or hopeless in our lives is not beyond His redemption. God specializes in restoration.

And not only does He restore, He exceeds expectations. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that God is “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” More healing. More purpose. More redemption. More grace.

When we stay in the Word, we begin to recognize the difference between the lies of the world and the truth of God. His Word realigns our hearts, renews our minds, and reminds us that our story is not finished.

Don’t let people define your future. Let God’s Word define it.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

📖 John 9:25 — I was blind, now I see

Trusting God often requires us to move in ways that don’t feel natural. Our instincts tell us to protect, control, and choose the safest path—but God often invites us into something deeper: obedience rooted in trust.

Scripture says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5–6). That kind of trust means listening closely, even when His direction feels uncomfortable or unclear.

Sometimes God asks us to forgive when we’d rather hold on, to step out when we feel unprepared, or to wait when we want to act. These moments reveal what we truly believe about Him. Do we trust His wisdom over our own? Do we believe He sees what we cannot?

Listening to the Lord requires slowing down and surrendering our need to figure everything out. Trusting Him means obeying—even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed or the path feels uncertain.

But God is faithful. He is not leading you into confusion, but into purpose. When you choose His way over your own, you may feel stretched—but you will never be outside His care.
