Calvary Youth

Calvary Youth Calvary Chapel of Clayton Youth Group We are to be Relentless in our pursuit of God as He is Relentless in the pursuit of us. We are Jesus’ disciples. He didn't.

The term "relent" means to slacken or to change your mind. To be "relentless" means to be steady and persistent; firmly, often unreasonably immovable in purpose or will. We want our youth to be Relentless in their pursuit of God; unchanging and unwavering in their faith and to be consistent and determined in having a relationship with Christ by Relentlessly reading His word, "humbling themselves,

praying, seeking His face, and turning from wicked ways" (2 Chronicles 7:14). “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up” (Luke 18:1). We are to be Relentless, never giving up, and always praying. We are called to seek God with all our heart and to keep seeking and seeking.... Relentlessly. There are many stories in the Bible that show people being Relentless. The story of the blind man in Mark 10 shows us his Relentless pursuit of God. When the blind man heard Jesus was walking by he yelled out "Son of David have mercy on me!" but people would mock and tell him to be silent, so the blind man stopped.... NO! The more the people told him to be silent, the louder he shouted! He didn't care. He was Relentless in his pursuit and faith that Jesus would heal him. He got Jesus' attention and he was healed. Another example in Mark 2 shows people being Relentless. Jesus was teaching in a house in Capernaum where immediately a crowd gathered and there was literally no more room, not even near the door. After the crowd formed, four friends came bringing their paralytic friend in hope Jesus would heal him. They were unable to get near because of the crowd. Disappointed, they turned around and went home.... NO! They didn't. They found another way to Jesus. They went up on the roof and let him down to Jesus, and Jesus seeing their faith healed the paralytic. Christ, in return, is also Relentless in His pursuit of us. The parable of the lost sheep in Matthew 18 shows us. A Sheppard had 100 sheep, but lost one. He left the 99 to look for the 1 and He rejoiced greatly when He found it. God is our Sheppard (John 10:11). When we are lost He pursues us Relentlessly, leaving His 99 just to “look” for us. God said "I will never leave you, nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). He was even Relentless to the point of death. His Relentless pursuit continued even on the Cross, while He was mocked and spit upon, He continued. Even when He thought He couldn't go through with it, He Relentlessly pursued the Fathers' will. He kept pushing forward. He was determined, persistent, unchanging, never giving up, Relentlessly loved us even while we were still sinners! (Romans 5:8)

We want our youth to be Relentless. Never giving up in their pursuit of God and His love. Consistently seeking His face daily. Being firm and immovable in their faith. Relentlessly showing the love of Christ towards others. To keep pushing forward. To never give up. Never surrender. Be... Relentless.

Today we celebrated something bittersweet as we graduated our Seniors from Calvary Youth. 🎓❤️

This group has been incredibly special. They didn’t just show up—they served. They loved Jesus, loved one another, and helped shape the culture of our youth ministry. Watching them grow in their faith over the years has been one of the greatest joys.

God was so faithful as He met us through His Word, deepened friendships, and reminded us that His mercies are new every morning.

Who gets the credit when God uses you?

It’s easy to celebrate what God has done through us while subtly shifting the attention onto ourselves. Paul modeled a different way. In Romans 15:18, he recognized that every changed life, every open door, and every ministry opportunity was ultimately Christ’s work.

To God alone be the glory.
