Through this ten day-long journey culminating with an exciting live Q&A session the dance and dialogue in this, experience breathtaking expositions of traditional narratives led by “Kalamandalam Shanmukham” of the acclaimed arts institution Kalamandalam, accompanied by insights into the history, costuming and makeup processes, literary texts, and music. Its that time of the year again when we all get together and celebrate Durga Puja and Bijoya. I hope all of you are looking forward to a day when we get together, celebrate this auspicious occasion as an extended family, have some delicious food, be a part of and witness some awesome performances on stage, catch up with old friends and make some new ones.

Durga Puja and Bijoya Celebration
Saturday, October 4th
State College Friend’s School
1900 University Drive, State College 16801

Tentative Schedule:
9:30 am – 12:30 pm: Puja Preparation and Puja
12:30 – 2:00 pm: Prasad and Bhog Distribution
2:00 – 2:30 pm: Clean up
2:30 – 5:00 pm: Break/adda
5:00 – 5:30 pm: Sandhya-arati and Dhunuchi Dance
6:00 – 8:30 pm: Bengali Cultural Program
8:30 – 10:00 pm: Dinner
10:00 – 10:30 pm: Clean up

A donation of $7/person will be collected from all Puja attendees who wish to stay for lunch. For a family of 3, it will be $15, and for a family of 4, it will be $20 total. Dinner coupons ($15/person for students, Post-docs and Children above the age of 8; $25 for others) will be available at the counter on the day of the event, if you wish to stay for dinner after the cultural function. If you don't want to stay for dinner, just attending the cultural function is FREE.

Ganapati Bappa Morya! Mangal Murti Morya! Chain mile na amhala, pudchya varshi lavkar yaa!

We had a small visarjan ceremony where we immersed the supari Ganapati in the duck pond. The murtis are still in the cultural lounge and will be there for a few more days.

Hey guys, we will be doing a small visarjan ceremony tomorrow for the betelnut Ganapati tomorrow at 5. We will meet at the West Cultural Lounge, do a short puja, then walk over to the duck pond for visarjan.
