Ignatian Solidarity Network The Ignatian Solidarity Network is a national social justice education and advocacy organization inspired by the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola.

The Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN) is a national social justice networking, education and advocacy organization animated by the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the witness of the Jesuit martyrs of El Salvador and their companions. ISN was founded in 2004 and is a lay-led 501(c)3 organization working in partnership with over 80 Jesuit universities, high schools, and parishes, along with many other Catholic institutions and social justice partners.

Happy Labor Day! Catholic Social Teaching calls us to honor the dignity of work. Work is more than a way to make a living; it is a form of participation in God’s creation. Pope Leo XIV chose his papal name because of Pope Leo XIII, the champion of workers who marked the beginning of the Church's social tradition with his landmark encyclical, Rerum Novarum ("On Capital and Labor").

The Catholic Ethical Purchasing Alliance (CEPA) is a project of the Ignatian Solidarity Network and Ethix Merch . Happy Feast of Saint Phoebe! On September 3, ISN joins Catholic communities and individuals around the world to celebrate the Feast of St. Phoebe, hosted by Discerning Deacons.

In the Letter to the Romans, St. Paul commends St. Phoebe to the church in Rome, introduces her as a deacon (diakonos) of the church at Cenchreae, and asks that they "receive her in the Lord" (Romans 16:1–2a). Their partnership is one of many throughout Church history in which women and men have labored together in mission—such as St. Olympias and St. John Chrysostom, St. Clare and St. Francis, and countless women and men today who embody co-responsibility in parishes, dioceses, and ministries around the world.

As we honor St. Phoebe's witness this year, we pray for the grace to bridge the divides that keep us from fully co-laboring in the Gospel. We entrust ourselves to the Holy Spirit, who continues to guide the Church toward deeper communion, participation, and mission—and we mark the beginning of a fall season of synodal participation, a time to pray, gather, and discern together how the Spirit is calling the Church forward.

The virtual gathering begins at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT and includes prayer through St. Phoebe's intercession, global witness, and reflection.

Rest in Peace, Wendell Berry (1934-2026)! The Kentucky-born author and agrarian whose poems, stories, novels and essays celebrated farming communities and warned of the excesses and misjudgments of an industrial, commercialized society, entered his eternal rest on August 31, 2026.
