It is open to general public. it serves as the St. Louis chapter of Dharma Drum Mountain organization. Pure Mind Center is dedicated in the introduction and promotion of Chan (Zen) school of Buddhism, which is rooted in the original Dharma teaching from Buddha with adoption of ancient Chinese philosophies. The Pure Mind Center library has roughly 300 books in English and over 1,000 books in Chines
e, covering all major Buddhist traditions. We also have a very limited selection of books in Spanish and Vietnamese. A few times a year, we invite guest speakers to give lectures and workshops on various aspects of Buddhism. These events range from short, 1 evening lectures to 2 or 3 day workshops. Sunday mornings, we offer the following program:
9:00 ~ 10:30 Tai Chi Class (2/12/2012 - 5/6/2012)
10:45 ~ 11:30 Exercise and Chan Meditation
11:30 ~ 12:00 Introduction to Buddhism
You are welcome to attend the entire session, or only the parts that interest you. No registration is required, but it is recommended that you call in advance, since we occasionally have to cancel the Sunday program due to peoples' schedule conflicts.
