Memorial Day isn’t just a day to BBQ and have fun. Because of today we can!
Today we are grateful for the freedom to worship Jesus because of what so many great men and women fought for. Today, we remember every service member who has lost their life as they fought to defend this country and we pray for the families who are missing someone today. John 15:13

As representatives and ambassadors of Jesus Christ, we intercede on His behalf by dropping our need to be right and letting go of our own takes completely, so we’re not led by our feelings or opinions anymore—but fully synced with Christ’s thinking, feeling, and praying from His Holy Spirit instead of our own.

Real intercession isn’t showing up for God, on His behalf, with our opinions and expecting Him to back them—it’s hosting Jesus Christ through His empowering Spirit, allowing what He’s already done reset our thinking, and aligning our heart, perspective, and prayers with what He wants for people. ~Ps Duane Lowe

OUR VALUE

We must fear God out of love, not love Him out of fear.

Jesus makes a statement that can feel startling at first: “Fear God… yes, I say to you, fear Him” (Luke 12:5). But before fear can turn into misunderstanding, He immediately follows with something just as powerful:
“Do not fear… you are of more value than many sparrows… even the very hairs of your head are numbered” (Luke 12:6–7).

In the same breath, Jesus reveals two truths we must never separate:
• God is holy and worthy of reverence.
• And we are deeply loved and incredibly valuable to Him.

This is the difference between holy fear and unholy fear.
• Unholy fear makes you run from God.
• Holy fear draws you closer to Him.

Why? Because you begin to realize who He is—and how much you matter to Him.

Think about this: God knows the exact number of hairs on your head at this very moment. That means He is not distant—He is attentive. David said God’s thoughts toward you are more than the sand on the earth (Psalm 139:17–18). No one thinks constantly about what they don’t value—so what does that say about you?

It says this: You are constantly on God’s mind.

Now let’s take it even further—our value is not determined by people.
The world has a broken system of worth. It undervalues life, misuses people, and measures worth by status, money, or usefulness.

But God sets the true value. And what price did He set on you? “God bought you with a price” (1 Corinthians 6:20). That price was giving His all; His best; Himself.
If you had been worth anything less, the exchange would not have been made. God does not make unprofitable decisions. That means this truth stands: Your life was valued at the price of the only part of Him that could suffer death, His body; His Son.

And God in His flesh takes it even further in His prayer: “You love them as much as You love Me” (John 17:23). God loves all frail humanity!

That is almost too much to comprehend—yet it is truth. God loves each of us with the same love He has for His own flesh, His Son.

So, what does holy fear do in light of this?
• It protects that relationship.
• It keeps our hearts close.
• It guards us from anything that would pull us away from the One Who values us most.

We should make this personal! If God values us this way… how should we see ourselves? And how should we treat others—who carry the same value?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for loving us with a value we cannot earn and cannot fully comprehend. Thank You for giving Your Body as the price for our lives as you did. Thank You for taking our place. Thank you for giving us Your Spirit and fire, so we can truly understand how deeply we are loved and valued. Let that truth draw us closer to You in holy fear—not shrinking back, but walking in reverence, love, and obedience. And teach us to see others with that same value. In Your name Jesus, we pray.

Unity of Spirit: We will live close to God in holy fear, and we will love and value others the way You love and value us.

The Glory of God“Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house...

The Glory of God

“Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting… And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability… What you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel: ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people… The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and glorious day of the Lord arrives. But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬-‭4‬, ‭16‬-‭17‬, ‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The glory of God is directly connected to the Promise of the Father—the Holy Spirit and fire new birth. No one can fully understand holy reverence without encountering the glory of God; His Spirit and Truth. Scripture reveals His glory as radiant light, consuming fire, and majesty far beyond human understanding. Through the empowering presence of His Spirit, we love Him even though we have not yet seen Him face to face. Though we do not see Him now, we trust in Him, and our hearts overflow with a joy too wonderful for words and filled with glory. And the reward of our faith is the salvation of our souls. (1 Peter 1:8-9)

Habakkuk said, “His brightness was like the light.” Paul wrote that God dwells in “unapproachable light.” Hebrews says, “Our God is a consuming fire.”

Think for a moment about the sun. It is powerful, blazing, and impossible to approach. Yet even the sun is only a dim picture compared to the glory of Jesus Christ.

When the apostle Paul encountered the risen Lord, he said he saw a light from heaven brighter than the noonday sun (Acts 26:13). Imagine the brightest sunlight possible—and then realize Christ’s glory surpasses it. If Paul experienced this glorious brightness of Jesus, does Jesus want all of us to experience His glory in the same manner?

This helps us understand why Joel prophesies that all flesh experience how the sun, moon, and stars is darkened in His presence. It is not because these heavenly bodies cease to exist, but because His glory will outshine them all as He fills us and manifest through us to the world around us.

What, then, is the glory of God?

When Moses prayed, “Please, show me Your glory,” God responded by saying, “I will make all My goodness pass before you” (Exodus 33:18–19).

God’s glory is the full revelation of who He is. It is this revealing of Himself that He invest in His Bride and children.

It is His holiness, goodness, wisdom, authority, beauty, power, mercy, justice, love, and majesty—all displayed without limit. The glory of God is everything that makes God, God. His name is Jesus and He gives us His name as His sons and daughters to reveal Himself through us for His glory.

Right now, we do not see Him in fullness. His Spirit is inviting us to trust Him as He develops our vision through a dim glass. But even now, we can know Him truly. We can encounter His presence through His Spirit and Truth while trusting, worshipping and following Him faithfully.

And here is the wonder of it all: the glorious God of the universe loves us deeply.

The One who placed the stars in the heavens, measured the waters in His hand, and rules all creation chose to rescue us. He took our judgment through His own Body so we could become part of His family.

That means the glory of God is not only something to fear with reverence—it is something to rejoice in with gratitude.

Second Corinthians 3:18 says that as we behold the Lord, we are transformed into His image from glory to glory by His Spirit Truth.

So today, lift your eyes higher than your worries. Higher than your distractions. Higher than the temporary pressures of life.

Fixing our hearts on the majesty of God is key. The more clearly we see Him, the more everything else aligns with His lordship in our hearts.

Prayer: Jesus, give us a greater awareness of Your glory. Help us to host Your presence without allowing other influences to distract our focus on You. We want Your greatness to be more real to us than the world around us. Fill our heart with reverence, wonder, awe, and love for You. Transform us as we behold You and honor Your name today. In Jesus name, amen.

Reflection: The glory of God is everything that makes God, God—and as we behold Him, we are changed.

Beholding Him

Scripture says, “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; His greatness is unsearchable” (Psalm 145:3). That means no one can fully measure, explain, or contain the greatness of God. His glory has no limits. His wisdom has no boundaries. His majesty is beyond comparison.

Yet even though we can never fully comprehend Him, we are invited to know Him more.

In Isaiah chapter 6, the prophet Isaiah was given a glimpse of heaven. He saw the Lord seated on His throne, high and lifted up. Around Him were mighty angels crying out, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!”

They were not repeating words out of routine. They were responding to what they saw. Every fresh revelation of God’s greatness caused a fresh cry of awe.

When Isaiah saw the holiness of God, he did not become proud or casual. He became deeply aware of who God is—and who he was in comparison. He cried, “Woe is me, for I am undone.”

This same response is seen throughout Scripture. Job encountered God and said, “Now my eyes have seen You.” Ezekiel fell face down. Abraham fell face down. John, when he saw the glorified Christ, fell at His feet as though dead.

Why? Because when people truly behold God, holy reverence rises.

All of us are tested and tried with all sorts of distractions. Our attention is captured by celebrities, success stories, headlines, social media, accomplishments, and endless noise. But all those things can dull our vision of what matters most.

The greatest invitation of our lives is not to admire the world—it is to behold Jesus.

Second Corinthians 4:6 says that the light of the knowledge of God’s glory is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. When we quiet our hearts, open our hearts to His Voice, and focus on Him, something changes inside us. We gain peace. We gain wisdom. We gain perspective. We begin to look more like Him.

Second Corinthians 3:18 promises that as we behold the Lord, we are transformed into His image from glory to glory.

So today, ask yourself: What am I giving my attention to? What am I becoming like? The world around us shapes everything it captures.

We must take charge of our free will and shut out the noise. Sit quietly. Tune your inner ear into His Spirit presence, His still small voice is inviting you to behold Him. Agree with His leading and Worship Him by engaging. Think on His greatness. Let your heart behold Him again.

Prayer: Father, give me a fresh vision of You today. Turn my eyes away from distractions and fix them on Your glory. Increase my reverence and hunger for You. Deepen my love and transform me into Your image. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflect: It is when we behold Jesus correctly, when we in awe of Him, that we are being changed into His likeness from glory to glory. ~ Ps. Duane Lowe

God’s Tangible Presence

Scripture: “God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be held in reverence by all those around Him.” — Psalms 89:7

Most misunderstand the fear of God. They think fear means dread or distance. But holy fear is not something that drives us away from God—it draws us near. It creates confidence, protection, deep awareness of His greatness, and presence.

The Bible reveals that God is everywhere at all times. His presence fills heaven and earth. But there is also what Scripture reveals as His manifest presence—those moments when God makes Himself known in a tangible, personal way. We sense His nearness, His peace, His conviction, His love, or His power.

What invites that kind of presence? Reverence.

Psalm 89 says God is greatly to be feared among His people. In other words, God’s tangible presence is welcomed in an atmosphere where He is honored, respected, and treasured.

Too often, we can become casual with holy things. We may rush into prayer distracted, treat worship lightly, ignore God’s Word, or enter church with our minds everywhere else. Yet if an important leader or celebrity entered the room, we immediately give our full attention. How much more should we honor the King of Kings?

Reverence is not about acting religious—it is about recognizing Who is present.

When we slow down, humble ourselves, and turn our hearts toward Him, something changes. The room may look the same, but the atmosphere becomes different because our hearts are ready. God responds to hunger, humility, and honor.

Even the prophet Daniel trembled in the presence of an angel because heaven’s reality overwhelmed him. If a messenger carries that weight, how much more the presence of God Himself?

Today, remember this: God’s presence is not common. It is sacred. And when we treat Him as holy, we discover how near He truly is.

Prayer: Father, forgive us for the times we have treated Your presence casually. Cleanse our hearts from distraction, indifference, and irreverence. Fill us with Your Spirit and fire and teach us to honor You in worship, prayer, and daily life. Help us to be aware of Your presence wherever we are. Let our lives become a place where You are welcomed and adored. In Your name Jesus, amen.

Reflect: How can you give God greater honor and attention today—in private and in public?
