Sunday in Power Up!, Mrs. Lisa helped our kids look at Romans 8:38-39 to answer the question, “What can separate me from God?”
There are a lot of things in life that try to tell us God doesn’t love us, God won’t forgive us for a certain sin, or it just doesn’t FEEL like God is there.
We did an experiment showing how God holds those who have accepted Jesus safely with him when the things of this world attack.
Scripture tells us that no matter how things look or how we feel, the TRUTH is that NOTHING can separate us from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus!
❤️ Parents of Littles, read this verse with your kids and play a game of naming things and asking if they can separate us from God’s love. Ask: “Can (insert name/being here) separate us?” Kids respond, “NO!” Then ask through the day as you ride in the car or go on your way. Get silly if you want.
❤️ Parents of older kids, use this verse to start a conversation about what things your child sees in their world that can make them think God doesn’t love them or care. What things look or feel like God isn’t there. Use this as an opportunity to speak and reinforce truth into your child’s heart. Kids are dealing with big things and they need to not only hear you say they’re not alone, but they need a foundation that says God isn’t going anywhere, no matter what happens.
We are praying for you as you disciple your families this week!
