Sunday Schedule:
10:00 -- Morning Worship & Children's Church
Online giving is set up now and goes directly to Fairview CoB by clicking or copying the link below. The church was initially served by the “Free Ministry” of an unpaid team of elders and ministers. The ministry team and the deacons made the decisions for the congregation. In the mid 1900’s the congregation hired pastors and elected
a board to oversee the business of the church. In addition, men, women, and youth fellowship groups ministered to the church family and community. Today the church board is divided into commissions focusing on the areas of Witness, Nurture, and Stewardship. The annual Council Meeting of all members oversees the final decisions of church business. In 2013 the church once again adopted a team of “free ministers.”
The Fairview congregation held services and communions in schoolhouses, barns, or in open air until 1866 when they built their first meeting house. The simple rectangular structure stood as a community landmark until January 7, 1944, when it was destroyed by fire. A large painting of Jesus in Gethsemane done by a local artist was saved from the fire and now hangs in the entry way of the present building. Community volunteers assisted the congregation construction and a new building was ready for worship later in 1944. To accommodate the many Sunday school classes, an educational wing was added in the summer of 1960. This wing was remodeled into a fellowship hall in 2005. The building is now fully handicap accessible.
