Today, John brings us another message from 2 Corinthians 1 where we discover Paul is defending his change of plans, not for his benefit, rather for their benefit. And in his defense, we discover that we are just like him. When our plans change, it may be for the glory of God.

This morning, John begins a new sermon series entitled Strength In Weakness. It is a study through the book of 2 Corinthians. Our message this morning will focus on the chapter 1 verses 1-11 where we discover God's purpose in our pain.. We'll find Him to be the Father of Mercies who meets us not when we are strong, but when we are "beyond strength." And we'll discover a revolutionary truth: The comfort we receive is not for us to keep; it is for us to give away.

Hey, First Christian Church, don't forget that this coming Sunday, May 3rd, we're having a Potluck and Packing day after church in our fellowship hall at noon.

Everyone is asked to bring something to share in the meal (John says he likes chicken). Since we haven't had a good potluck dinner in quite a while, surprise us with your culinary skills. If you're a baker, bring on the desserts; if you're a grill-master, let's see what you got; and for those of you who can only make a grilled-cheese-sandwich, those are acceptable as well.

After your generous giving through this year's Easter Offering, we're going to be able to pack 3,600 units of first-aid kits to send off to FAME that will be used throughout the world to share the Gospel message.
