Ok but In addition to our regular Christmastime service this Sunday 12 Noon at 100 College Ave in New Brunswick, www.Rutgers.Church is hosting a Board Game Night Friday, May December 15 at 7:30pm. Bring a game and come out and “de-stress” from the anxieties of the season for a fun time of great food, games, music and meeting new friends!

I grew up catholic but my family wasn’t super religious. We only went to church a few times a year but growing up I never felt connected to the church or God. The first time I started seeking God out was going into high school. I was going through struggles with my mental health and self harm. I didn’t know what else to do, and I wanted to stop but I felt like I couldn’t. Looking back I was so young and I thought for a long time that I had to go through this alone but I didn’t realize that God was there for me. I then decided to download the Bible app and I started reading devotionals and praying. And overtime I realized that there’s so much that’s greater than the small things I’m going through. There’s so much beyond my middle school and high school self that I didn’t realize. Gods beauty and love is greater than anything else in this world. His love is infinite. End of high school and going into college tho I kind of pushed God away. But then I met my friend Bre. She opened up to me about how God was working in her life, her testimony, and her passion for the Lord. Each time we talked about God her face would light up with her love for God. I loved seeing her love for God and I wondered why I forgot about God. Bre encouraged me to go to oasis and go back to faith. Even when I forgot about God, he never forgot about me. This whole time God has been redirecting me back to him. One thing I learned is to accept gods love for me. Something that Sam said during service: god doesn’t love us because we’re worthy. It was difficult for me to understand because I was trying to prove myself to god but I couldn’t understand his unconditional love. In reality I’m going to fail him and make mistakes throughout my life. But god knows this and despite this he still loves us. Jesus died on the cross even though he did nothing wrong to pay the price for our sins.He will continue to guide me though healing and struggles and this journey will still have ups and downs but I want to choose God first in my life.

DOMINIQUE’S TESTIMONY:

“I want to start my testimony with a Scripture:
John 1:4-5 4 The Word
gave life to everything that was created,and his life brought light to everyone.
5 The light shines in the darkness,and the darkness can never extinguish it.
I can sum my testimony in a few words but the few words I can describe is pain, darkness, and death.
I struggled in the past with addiction to both w**d and po*******hy. Homosexuality. Lust. Depression. Anxiety. and Suicidal thoughts.
September 2019.
God met me in my bedroom, I remember in that moment I was just telling him everything I ever done & I never knew it was called repentance.
In that moment of all the sin and pain I held onto ,I felt peace.
I remember feeling his embrace & a voice in my head telling me Im forgiven.
I didn’t completely understand what he meant and it took me about 2 years to finally pick up a bible to find out.
That it meant Luke 24:47 ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’
October 2021 I was finally getting finished with the old testament and was now in the new testament.
I got to know Jesus and in that moment I believed and accepted him.
John 1: 12. 12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins and now he stand on the right hand of God interceding for us.
Hebrews 7:25
25 Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
Now I am full of his light and love and I’m ALIVE. “church.nj
