Welcome to the page of Congregation Beis Hillel, a small but very friendly and welcoming Orthodox shul in Union Township, New Jersey. CBH is led by Rabbi Shaya Winiarz who joined our shul with his Rebbetzin, Miera, and their four children in time for Rosh Hashanah 5783. CBH is a full-service shul with the earliest weekday minyan for Shacharis in the area (5:45 or 5:50 a.m., as well as 8:0
0 a.m.). The full schedule can be found at www.congregationbeishillel.org. The local Jewish community comprises shuls in Elizabeth, Hillside and Union Township. The community has its own K-12 school — the Jewish Educational Center — which includes the Yeshiva of Elizabeth, the Rav Teitz Mesivta Academy (RTMA) middle school and high school (boys), and the nationally-known Bruriah High School for Girls. Some families send their children to the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston, and the Torah Academy of Bergen County (TABC) in Teaneck. The community has a wonderful small kosher grocery, a pizza store/dairy restaurant, a meat restaurant, and a Chinese-style restaurant that is regionally-renowned among kosher consumers. There is also a kosher Dunkin' Donuts and Carvel, a half-hour commute to NYC on both the Northeast Corridor and Raritan Valley lines operated by NJ Transit, two mikvaot plus a keilim mikvah, several local caterers who do wonderful work at various price points, Hatzalah and a number of other active and dedicated chesed organizations.
