Preparing the Unprepared

Every day you encounter things that are preparing you and shaping you to be…. YOU!

As a student, you are taught today and tested in the days following. Life really isn’t any different; except sometimes we don’t learn the lesson that was taught yesterday and today we feel unprepared. Maybe you feel unprepared, like there isn’t a teacher preparing you with the information that is on the test.

But wait…is there? Yes!

No, he/she isn’t a human teacher…HE is our Almighty Father in Heaven. He has given us the instructions and provided examples all within, “THE BIBLE”! Feeling lost? Sad? Unloved? Unknowing?

For, “the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:15-16

Read God’s word today, and all the tomorrows and be who God intended for you to be!

Small things, Big Impacts.

If you received a blessing today, would you even know it?

If someone walks by you and wishes you well…would you ponder the interaction or carry on without a second thought. If someone provides food for you when you are hungry, would you appreciate it? Be grateful, even? There are so many who go from day-to-day not knowing where their next meal will come from; and some, if they will interact with anyone in the coming days or weeks.

Something so small to you may be something HUGE to another. Take time to be a blessing to someone…whether it is wishing someone well, providing a need for someone, or being a listening ear. Smile as you pass someone and make them feel seen. We all deserve love, and there is a God who shows us just how to do that.

So “as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” (Colossians 3:12) And care for one another above yourself.

Community…The people that come through not only in the good times, but in the difficult times. The times when no words or actions can remove the impact of life but can provide glimmers of hope in a shadow of darkness.

When community comes through for one another, they shine light where once was darkness and the shadows of darkness…they fade. While the pain and memories of our past never go away, they ease with the comfort of knowing that you are not alone in this life. With Christ, no one is ever truly alone. So, seize this day. Be present in every moment. Connect and engage with those around you, because making new memories builds who God is shaping you to be…Every-Day!

WHAT DOES MUSIC HAVE TO SAY?
Music has always been more than sound. It can tell a story, bring back a memory, express a longing, challenge an idea, celebrate a victory, or give a voice to pain that words can't explain. But what happens when we listen a little closer?

In our new sermon series, “What Does Music Have to Say?”, we’re going to explore powerful messages found in the music that surrounds us and discover what those messages can teach us about faith, truth, purpose, love, brokenness, hope, and the Gospel.

Different music that has shaped generations, we’ll ask some honest questions:
What is this song really saying?
Why does music affect us so deeply?
What truths—and what lies—are hidden in the messages we hear?
And most importantly, what does God have to say about the things music is saying to us?

This isn’t about judging music. It’s about listening, thinking, questioning, and discovering eternal truth in the middle of a culture filled with competing voices. Real Questions. Timeless Truth. Eternal Impact.

Come listen with us. What does music have to say? And maybe even more importantly… What is God saying to you?

It was a blessing to spend time at Diversicare Of Arab. We shared joy, laughter, snacks and faith. The kids had a great time and are ready for another visit!
