Saturdays in May, 2019
First Christian Church is a place where faith is nurtured and questions are welcomed. We believe that conversations create hope when we talk to each other about what really matters in our lives. Listening to each other is a way to love one another. Respecting questions and doubt is our way of creating safe space for connecting to each other and learning from each other.
Our church will host four workshops in the month of May. Each Saturday afternoon (May 4, 11, 18, & 25) at 2:00-4:00, we will gather in Fellowship Hall to learn about Nonviolent Communication. Rev. Elaine Blanchard, our pastor, will facilitate the workshops. The workshops are free and all are welcome to join us. Refreshments will be served. The workshops titles are: 1.) The Power of Listening, 2.) Observing Needs and Feelings 3.) Giving and Receiving Empathy 4.) Making Requests vs Demands. Each workshop can stand alone, so it is not required that participants attend all four. However, to get the most from the experience, attending all four workshops will be most advantageous.
