Founded as Avila House in 1981, Hope House in 2013 The doors to the Hope House Retreat Center (formerly Avila House) were opened by Msgr. James Peterson in 1981. Many people attended retreats here for the past 34 years and experienced God's presence in their lives through their retreat experience. Peterson was Father Larry Richard's Spiritual Director for over 30 years and just before Msgr. Peters

on died in 2013 he asked Fr. Larry to continue his work in bringing people to Christ through his retreat center. We continue to honor Msgr. Peterson by providing a beautiful retreat center to be used for years to come. For more information call Mary Therese Craig at 814-455-7364
