Our History:

St. Rocco was officially inaugurated and d

edicated on July 14, 1912 by the Rev. Grieff, Pastor of Holy Family, Union City who had been delegated by the Most Rev. Raphael O’Connor, Bishop of Newark. Father Sinisi celebrated the first mass. In 1912 the first priest, Father Sinisi founder and the first Pastor of St. Rocco led the parish from 1912 to 1922, when he was replace by Father Grisciotti, who was a Pallottine Father. Up until the year of 1984 all the priests were Pallottine Fathers. The first rectory was on the second floor of a wooden church on the corner than known as Liberty Street and Hudson Boulevard, Union Hill. The wooden Church was a cobbler shop with an upstairs residence. The cobbler shop was altered for Church use while the upstairs was retained in part as a residence for the priest. A small belfry was added to the structure. In 1923 a one family wooden house on at 544 Liberty Street was purchased for use as a rectory. The present rectory on Kennedy Boulevard was dedicated on June 24, 1951. The former rectory was used for many years as a residence for the sexton. The original wooden church burned down in 1924 and rebuilding of the existing building began, under the guidance of Father Grisciotti, Father Grisciotti was able to save many of the relics and The Blessed Sacrament from the flames.

Good evening everyone
Thank you for attending our Parish Barbecue
today. The event was a successful . We sold all the 300 tickets of the Shared Raffle . And we also have a small 50/50 .

Bishop Gregory Studerus celebrated the 12 pm Mass in honor of our Patron Saint Rocco . We have a blessing with the new relic of St Rocco .

Thank you to all the volunteers who work for the event to be a memorable time .
We have people helping : setting up, cleaning , cooking and putting everything back after the event .

Buenas noches a todos. Gracias por asistir a la barbacoa de nuestra parroquia el día de hoy. El evento fue un éxito: vendimos los 300 boletos de la rifa y también organizamos una pequeña rifa de tipo "50/50".

El obispo Gregory Studerus celebró la misa de las 12:00 p. m. en honor a nuestro santo patrón, San Roque. Tuvimos una bendición Con la nueva reliquia de San Roque ,

Gracias a todos los voluntarios que trabajaron para que este evento fuera memorable; contamos con personas que ayudaron en el montaje, la limpieza, la cocina y la recogida de todo al finalizar. Que tengan una noche bendecida. ¡San Roque, ruega por nosotros!
