Since this is my last time preparing the bulletin, I want to thank everyone for being so patient with me and my "secretarial" skills for all these years. Off and on (but mostly on) over the past 28 years, I have greatly enjoyed serving my Church and the variety of priests that I have come to know. It has given me a wonderful opportunity to become acquainted with many of the parishioners of both St. Mary and St. Joseph parishes, too. Thank you all for this opportunity! -- Joni Milner

Introducing Francis Albert (Director of Evangelization)

I was raised in Shirley Massachusetts to a Catholic French family and hold many fond memories of growing up in New England. {Warning -- I have a slight accent}. I moved to Fort Wayne in 1978 and have been employed at Lutheran Life Villages for the past forty-one years where I served as the Safety Compliance Officer for the Anthony Location.
I have three sons: Joel, Daniel, and Seth. All who now have families of their own and have blessed me with twelve grandchildren who call me Pe'pe' {French for grandpa}.
I retired from the Fort Wayne National Guard in 2002 where I served as an Aerospace Ground Mechanic. Yes, I am a Black Snake, but not the evil one mentioned in Genesis.
I received my commission from the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana as a Ecclesial Lay Minister in 2012. I also completed Education for Ministry from the Diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend 2013.
I made my profession as a Secular Franciscan in 2018 and now serve as their Formation Director. However, I was not named after Saint Francis of Assisi but named after the great missionary Saint Francis Xavier.
I hope to meet and introduce myself to everyone personally.

Introducing JoEllen Johnston (Director of Operations)

My name is JoEllen Johnston and I am the new Operations Manager for the Jay and Randolph Catholic Pastorate. I have been a member at Immaculate Conception, Portland since 2004 but my husband and his family are lifelong parish members. I am married to Ron Johnston and have two children and three grandchildren. Megan Shawver, our daughter, lives in Valdosta, Georgia and has two daughters, Olivia (14) and Sophia (11). Tyler, our son, (wife Kelsey) lives in Yorktown and they have one daughter, Marin (1).
I am a graduate of Ball State University with a major in Accounting. I recently retired from Frank Miller Lumber in Union City where I was their VP Chief Financial Officer for nineteen years. After seven months of retirement it has become apparent to me that I retired but I am not tired. I have very fond feelings for Randolph County and am looking forward to the continued Randolph County connections. My family also has ties to the Trinity parish as well. My mother-in-law (Aletha Remaklus Johnston) attended school/ church at Trinity.
I look forward to the new challenge and ask for your patience and prayers.
