Traditionally, this Sunday is recognized as Palm Sunday—a day of hosannas and praise as Jesus enters Jerusalem as King.
But this year, we chose to observe Passion Sunday.
Today, we still praised Him as King—but not only as the One who rode in on a donkey to the cheers of the crowd. We worshiped Him as the King who suffered at the hands of sinful men… for us.
As Epistle to the Philippians reminds us,
He took on the form of a servant, humbled Himself, and became obedient to death—even death on a cross.
And therefore, God has highly exalted Him, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
This is our King.
A King revealed not only in glory—but in suffering.
This morning, as we walked through Gospel of John 19:1–16, we were reminded:
Jesus reigns through the cross.
This is the heart of our faith.
This is the King we worship.
Join us next week as we gather again—
to praise Him not only as our suffering King,
but as our risen Lord.
