Today is Pastor's Wife's Appreciation Day...
We celebrate and appreciate Karin Maurer, the beloved wife of Pastor Dan Maurer at UC Wes. Thank you for your love, strength, wisdom, prayers, and unwavering support. Your kindness and dedication bless our church family in countless ways.

You are a beautiful example of faith, humility, and compassion. We love and appreciate you more than words can express. May God continue to strengthen, bless, and honor you abundantly.

Same fire. Two hearts. πŸ”₯

That's where we're headed tomorrow morning β€” 1 Samuel 30, and the one verse where the whole story turns.

If you've been carrying something for a while, come sit with us. Save you a seat. Come as you are. Bring someone.

Some of you can already see the smoke. You just haven't gotten home yet. πŸ”₯

Everybody has that moment. The phone call. The court date. The empty side of the bed. The kid's bedroom door that's stayed closed too long. However it comes, there's a version of you that walks toward it β€” and most of us haven't decided in advance which one is going to show up.

This Sunday we're in 1 Samuel 30, where six hundred men come home to the same fire. And inside a single verse, the road forks. One of them walks out different.

If you've been running on fumes, if you've been carrying something for a long time and never really put it anywhere β€” come sit with us this Sunday. And if there's somebody who came to mind reading this, bring them.

One question for you: what's the thing you'd hand to God right now if you actually believed He'd take it?

This Sunday we'll come to the altar with Great Is Thy Faithfulness.

Here's something worth knowing before you sing it. That hymn comes straight out of Lamentations β€” the one book in the Bible that is nothing but grief, start to finish. Right in the middle of it, chapter 3: "Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning." Somebody wrote that sentence while the city was still smoking.

And Thomas Chisholm, who turned it into the hymn in 1923, was once asked what dramatic thing happened to him that made him write it. He said nothing did. No crisis, no rescue story β€” just his own ordinary life and what he'd read in Scripture.

That's the song we're singing this week, and it fits where we're headed.

God didn't go quiet on you.

There's insulation in the way. And you installed it yourself, years ago, for reasons that made complete sense at the time.

From Sunday's message β€” Hebrews 3:15, "Today when you hear his voice, don't harden your hearts."

Know somebody who needs to hear this? Send it to them. πŸ’™

A wall doesn't know what it keeps out. It just keeps things out.

Most of us built one after something happened β€” and honestly, we were right to want protection. But the wall that keeps the pain out also keeps out the healing, and the voice, and the people.

Sunday we were in Hebrews 12 and Ezekiel 36 on what an untended wound turns into, and on the one thing God promised to do about it. He doesn't offer a tougher heart. He offers a tender one.

Somebody on your list needs to hear that this week. Send it to them. πŸ’™

There's a wall you built for a good reason.

That's the part nobody warns you about, though β€” a wall doesn't just keep the pain out. It insulates. It makes it hard to hear.

Sunday we were in Hebrews 12 and Ezekiel 36, looking at what happens to a wound nobody ever tended. It doesn't stay a wound. It goes stubborn. And a stubborn heart is the one thing you can't fix β€” and the one thing God promised to replace.

Not with a tougher heart. With a tender one.

If that's you, or if you know somebody it's for, pass it along. πŸ’™

This Sunday. We'll come to the altar with Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.

We're in week three of From Pain To Purpose, and the text is Ezekiel 36 β€” where God promises to take out a hard, stubborn heart and put His own Spirit in us. So when we sing Spirit Of The Living God, we'll be asking Him for the exact thing He already promised to do.

Ever feel like God went quiet on you?

Maybe He didn't.

Tomorrow we're talking about the walls we put up after we get hurt β€” and the thing nobody warns you about walls: they don't just keep the pain out. They insulate. They make it hard to hear.

You built it for a good reason. That doesn't mean you have to live behind it for the rest of your life.

We'd love to save you a seat. Come as you are β€” and if it's been a while, tomorrow is exactly the kind of Sunday to come back to. Bring somebody with you. πŸ’™

# # Notes
- **First line is the hook** β€” Facebook truncates after 1–2 lines, so *"Ever feel like God went quiet on you?"* is what shows before the fold.
- **One CTA: bring somebody.** A member resharing to their own wall is what actually produces visitors.
- Emojis can be stripped on request.
- ⚠️ **9:30 Sunday School is not listed** β€” it's paused June–August. Add it back if it has resumed.
