How should we read the book of Ecclesiastes? “Everything is meaningless” is the author, Solomon’s repeated refrain. Is he being ironic, sarcastic, or are these his true assessments? Is he a cynic or is he depressed? Does he really feel that life is “meaningless?” What about us? No one wants their life to be meaningless! Whatever we can say about this book, he is searching and does reach an important conclusion.
