What that means is we welcome you from the time you get pregnant all the way until your child graduates high school! Childcare is provided through our Wednesday night church programs. Children under 2 are loved on in the nursery, 2yrs - 5th grade participate in the AWANA program, and 6th - 12th attend youth group. What to expect from MOPS:
*WELCOMING TO ALL WOMEN: We’ve all been placed in this ti
me and place in history, as the tribe of women who are raising the world. And the beauty of it is that we don’t all have to agree with one another but everyone is in and we all need each other. We know we mother better together, so ALL moms are welcome at MOPS. MOPS International is a Christian organization, while our charter here is a Ministry of First Baptist Church of Umatilla. You do not need to be a churchgoer or from a specific denomination to join MOPS. We welcome women from all faith or non-faith backgrounds.
*MENTORING: Sometimes we need a wise woman who has been there and done that to bounce ideas off of. That’s why we love our MOPS Mentors, they have sage advice and willing ears.
*HONEST CONVERSATION: Real talk is liberating. It frees us from assumptions that we are alone in our struggles. We value taking a risk and sharing your story in order to heal someone else from their isolation.
*FUN MEETINGS: A MOPS/MOMSnext meeting includes practical teaching through speakers, demonstrations, discussion and videos. Sometimes we get a little crafty... sometimes we get a little crazy... we always have fun!!! Plus, there's food... MOPS meetings are often the only opportunity our moms have to sit and eat without kids. Need a little mom connection? A little adult conversation? Strong coffee and a moment to sit still? We do, too. We're here for you. Oh! And guess what? We're all moms, too. So, we totally get that you'll be running in the door in the nick of time. Chances are, we will be too!
*BONDING: Outside of MOPS meetings, we have Moms Nights Out, play dates, family events, and an active page to keep you as busy as you’d like and building relationships. Your Leadership Team is here to facilitate and create a MOPS experience that meets your unique needs. Our hope is that you’ve come to MOPS with a desire to build lasting friendships and grow as a mother. We are here to give you a warm smile, a friendly hug, and a shoulder to lean on as we all strive to be the best moms we can be!
