ADOPTION

Ephesians 1:5-6 “God decided in advance to ADOPT us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do and it gave him great pleasure.”
Adoption means receiving all the rights and privileges of those who are born into a family. It means all that Jesus has is ours. This is the source of our true identity. We are adopted sons and daughters of God, who have inherited all the blessings that our hearts and souls need and long for.
Romans 8:14-17 “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearless slaves. Instead you received Gods Spirit when he ADOPTED you as his own children. Now we get to call him “Father” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are Gods children. And since we are his children we are his heirs. In fact together with Christ we are heirs of Gods glory. But if we are to share his glory we must also share his suffering.”
Being led by the Holy Spirit is an indicator that we are the children of God. Does this mean that whenever we arent lead by the Holy Spirit we stop being Gods children? No. But it does mean that if we are going to act like who we really are, we are going to seek and need guidance from the Holy Spirit, and do what He tells us to do. Being “led by the Spirit” may sound a little hard to grasp. We don’t need to overcomplicate this. There will always be areas where we are confused and unsure, but there is usually some clairty around an area where wed much prefer to do things our own way. This verse is telling us that children of God recognize that we are not our own, that our lives were purchased for a price, and that we should go where God is telling us to go. But as a beloved son and daughter we trust that even if it isnt the plan we prefer it is always for our benefit.
So how does fear play a role into all of this? Why did Paul tell us that we don’t have a spirit within us that causes us to fall back into fear? He brings fear up at this point because its such a powerful emotion, especially when its unspoken. Silent fear is paralyzing, but spoken fear can propel us forward. Underneath much of what we fear is a sense of losing control. Paul says that we don’t need to fall back into fear because he knows who is ultimately in control. He knows that God has got all the details staright and is able to bring order and peace. Paul knows that God in His infinite goodness is utterly for us. As we grow to trust God, in his love and his consistent delivery on all His promises fear starts to lose its grip on our hearts. Trusting in God is the ONLY true way to overcome fear.
Matthew 6:31-34 “So don’t worry about these things saying what will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Todays trouble is enough for today.”
Matthew 10:29-31 “What is the price of two sparrows- one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid you are more valuable to God than whole flock of sparrows.”
Romans 8:38-39 “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from Gods love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow. Not even the powers of hell can separate us from Gods love. No power in the sky above or in the eath below- indeed nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord”
You have been destined for ADOPTION through Jesus. This has been Gods plan all along.
Ephesians 1:6 “So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us we belong to his dear Son.”
Each one of us has been created for our own sake- never as an object to be used by God. That being said God longs for our lives to praise the glory of his grace. This is not crafting a life so that our own names would be known. It is not living so that we have our own platfrom. It is not insisting that we operate every minute in an area that reflects our particular gifts and abilities. Its certaintly not taking credit for good in us that is actually due to Gods presence in us. When we are truly ourselves when we live authentically as Gods children we crucify our egos and die to ourselves. And we want nothing more than for Gods grace to be lifted and seen.
The word grace means “undeserved favor” All we have is a gift from Him. Our lives should be a living testimony to the difference that Gods grace can change us. And be a witness to those around us.

Close your eyes and pray “Lord you are my home. You bring me rest. Draw close to me. Open my eyes to see your strength, your goodness, faithfulness, steadfastness and abilty to bring good from the most darkest circumstances. Help me to get my eyes off of myself and onto you. Help me to remember that it is not up to me. I am not strong enough to live my life on my own. You are so big God. Your power and grace Lord I can not phathom. I am little compared to you and this is a good thing because it leaves more room for you God. I know I am not alone. Fill me with a fresh outpouring of your Holy Spirit so that I may do the impossible. Remind me that I belong to you. That nothing is too big or impossible with you. Help me to never forget how precious I am. Fill me Holy Spirit. Help me to believe that I am your beloved. Help saturate my mind in your love so that I can see myself through your eyes. In Jesus mighty name we pray Amen

BELONGING-

We have all come here from all sorts of places. Some of us are hiding out. We have mastered the art of self-protection and are very careful about what parts of us we allow others to see. Others of us are running so fast to prove we are good enough. I wonder if some of us have started to disengage because it’s the only way you know how to protect yourself. Maybe you are addicted to change. A weight of shame is bringing you down… whatever it may be…

One thing I know for sure is we are all full of emotions. Some of us have been taught that we aren’t worth anyone’s attention or that our emotions need to be shoved away. We are living sterile versions of the lives God created for us. We might be pushing away the tough uncomfortable emotions that just might be gifts from God to bring us true healing and closer to a better life he has in store for us.

Can you remember who you were before you were told who you should be? Or maybe who someone told you, you were not?

Sometimes the thing you are most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.

Jesus is inviting you on the journey toward freedom.
Your emotions, memories, hurts and dreams are welcome here.

We are going to pay attention to our emotions but we are not going to allow them to consume us, to let them decide where we are going. We will not allow our emotions to taking the steering wheel anymore.
Our compass is going to be scripture. Our guide is going to be the only source of truth and that is JESUS.

Ephesians 1:4 “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes”

I want to share with you a little bit about Paul in the bible.

Paul was a Jewish Pharisee whose mission was to persecute Christians. He tried to destroy the church and anyone who claimed Jesus. He would literally break into people’s houses and drag men and women out to have them sent to prison for their faith or even murdered them. But an encounter with Jesus altered everything. On his journey one day Paul fell to the ground and came face to face with Jesus himself who asked him why are you persecuting me? Temporarily literally blinded by the encounter he was converted and became the greatest evangelizer and preacher of Christianity of all time.

His beginning was not his end. Paul was a man with a mission sent out and chosen by God. Paul could have considered his past actions to dictate his entire future. Yet somehow he was able to see himself as God saw him instead of allowing his past to define him.

I wonder where you are today. Do you feel unworthy on some level? Do you look at your past and feel defined by your mistakes?

What we have to remember is that God calls the broken and the lost. Jesus is drawing you to him right now simply because he loves you this much.

Ephesians 1:2 tells us that the grace and peace we are after comes from only one source and that is God alone.

If we look for it anywhere else it only brings temporary satisfaction.

Some of us find ourselves in this rollercoaster of life unsettled, unfulfilled…

Deep within we all have a desire to feel chosen. Yet many of us feel alone and unseen. This can be our experience even if we are surrounded by people. But there is a love that never fails a love that chose you. You were chosen by God. He picked you. He sees you as an individual, unique and beautiful. Any other thoughts swimming around in your head that suggest otherwise are not from God.

He chose you for a purpose to be set apart from the world.

YOU BELONG TO HIM.

On our journey even as believers a lot of things hurt each and every one of us. Sometimes its been because of another person’s mistakes sometimes its been your own. Your heart has been wounded each and every one of us. God never wanted you to be hurt in fact he desires our good more than anyone.
God has chosen you but in order to receive his grace his peace his mercy YOU MUST CHOOSE HIM TOO! I’m talking about opening the door of your heart to him. To really encounter who he is and all he has in store for you. You do not need to clean yourself up or be perfect in the worlds eyes to receive Jesus into your lives. He is waiting there for you to invite him in.
He is knocking on the door of your heart but he is a gentleman he wont force his way into your life. He waits to be invited in to draw near to you. He knows you are weary of letting anyone that close, of being vulnerable.

He is safe he is the only one who will always be perfectly tender with your heart. How can I say this with total certainty? Because you are not your own you were bought with a price which was paid with the precious blood of Jesus. GOD LOVES US THIS MUCH. He doesn’t want us to hurt, to struggle, to be lost… and so many of us carry around deep wounds because we have solely put our trust in man. But the true gifts that God wants to give to us will never be found in man.

The father calls you redeemed, beloved and CHOSEN.

THEN WE PRAYED THIS PRAYER TOGETHER:

DEAR JESUS
I AM AFRAID TO LET YOU COME CLOSE
I HAVE SPENT SO MUCH TIME PROTECTING MYSELF
I HAVE ALLOWED A WALL TO BUILD UP AROUND MY HEART
AND ITS KEPT ME FROM SOME HURT
BUT IT HAS ALSO KEPT ME FROM THE DEPTH OF YOUR LOVE
I KNOW THAT YOU DESIRE TO HAVE A RELATIOINSHIP WITH ME
YOU WANT ALL OF ME
IM EXHAUSTED LORD
IM DONE TRYING TO PROVE MY WORTH TO THOSE AROUND ME
I DON’T WANT TO NUMB MYSELF AND MISS OUT ON WHAT YOU HAVE IN STORE FOR ME
I AM SO FULL OF BAGGAGE AND JUNK
AND YET YOU STILL WANT ME
YOU LOVE ME LORD
IN SPITE OF ALL OF THIS
YOU DIED FOR ME EVEN WHEN I WAS AT MY WORST
I NEED YOU DESPERETLY
I INVITE YOU IN LORD
I KNOW YOU CHOOSE ME AND I CHOOSE YOU
I CHOOSE YOU OVER SELF PROTECTION
I CHOOSE YOU OVER MY ADDICTIONS
I CHOOSE YOU OVER MY OTHER RELATIONSHIPS
I CHOOSE YOU OVER MY OWN ACCOMPLISHMENTS
I INVITE YOU IN LORD
HERE IS MY HEART
I GIVE IT ALL TO YOU GOD
MY LIFE IS NOT MY OWN
MAKE ME BRAND NEW
IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME AMEN

WE CREATED A GIRLS/ WOMEN'S GROUP:
BEAUTY FROM ASHES

Isaiah 61:3
“To all who mourn he will give a crown of beauty for ashes a joyous blessing instead of mourning”

He takes our ashes and creates something beautiful.

Meaning: Gods ability to take the most devastating and painful experiences in a person’s life “ashes” and transform them into something positive. Even in the midst of extreme hardship God can bring positive change, healing and restoration.
If we can accept our grief, then we can overcome our grief.

Examples of grief: Obviously the first one that comes to everyone’s mind is death and loss. Another example would be trauma of any form, divorce, expectations of things and people, an old self-image, memories, lifestyle, feuds with loved one’s including friends or family, change in financial status, infertility, decline in health… the list can go on and on.

Everybody at some point or another in their lives will experience some form of grief. Whether long term, short term or to some which seems to last an entire life time.

Most of us try and fill the voids we carry with the things of this world. Whether it be drugs, alcohol, s*x, work, fitness, spending, eating.. whatever it may be none of these will sustain us long term. They give us short term satisfaction. Then you're left feeling empty, you start to question your existence. Until you find God the one who created us the heavens and the earth you will always be on the search for something more.

Many people get into a place of feeling stuck. We cope. We build up walls.

Bring beauty & healing to your pain.

Let the weak say I AM STRONG.

Luke 19:10 “For Jesus came to seek and save those who are lost”

You may have been told in you’re life that you are not enough, that you are unworthy, unwanted, or unloved. But let me tell you today that you are more than you have been told. When you start to uncover who you really are and who God created you to be it changes how you live.

THE PURPOSE OF THE GROUP:

To create a safe place where people can come and feel heard, feel seen, accepted and most importantly feel loved. We invite anyone young or old to come just as you are and encounter THE TRUE LOVE OF JESUS.

Jesus calls us to live in the world with a strive to be like him. Like it says in John 15:12 “love each other in the same way I have loved you”

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Jesus is compassion. Jesus was the most compassionate person whoever walked the earth. We are called to be compassionate to one another. Never in the bible does it say for us to judge each other. Or to tally off how many wrongs someone has done, or to argue our opinions about whose right or wrong.

Our goal with this group is to build a SAFE even ANONYMOUS place where people can come exactly as they are. Bring your burdens. No load is to heavy to bare.

It doesn’t matter what the world says or what society has turned into.. it doesn’t matter where you’ve been or what you’ve been through. There is nothing “too bad” in the eyes of the one who loves you. Jesus love is the same today yesterday and everyday moving forward. Even if we slip and fall 77,000 times his love is never failing.

In Galatians 3:28 it says “slave or free, male or female you are all one in Christ Jesus”

At the end of the day, we can love people and have compassion for them until we are out of breath. I have always had a deep love for people especially the hurting and broken and I held a group similar to this in the past years ago. With a similar goal in mind but I had absolutely no direction, nothing to offer really because I didn’t have the answers then. So this time I don’t want to just climb into the pits with you. My purpose behind this group is to reach in and help you come out to bring hope of overcoming or at least peace during the storm you are facing.

I have found the light I have found the healing I have found the peace and I want to give away what the Lord has given to me.

I WILL BE POSTING OUR UPCOMING GROUPS SOON IM PLANNING TO HOLD HALF THE GROUPS IN WILLITS & HALF IN UKIAH.
